Great Story and website. I'm a Professional student. My career is going to school. I already possess a Bachelors and Maters Degree and I still attend school lol. They call it a Non-traditional student and I love it. Sometimes, I take a class at a 4-year school, even a 2-year school. I just love school. Please keep bringing information about school :)) God Bless You!!! Thank You so much...

I don't get why anyone would go here. Good luck getting a job outside the Mormon Corridor with a BYU-I diploma: The reputation of this poorly rated college and its whacko community precedes it. Inside the Mormon Corridor it's known as a 2nd tier ex community college for those who couldn't get into Provo.

Waterville is small but charming. You can live off Campus in downtown dorm and take the shuttle, my daughter does, no car needed. She’s a senior now with a great job offer, did semester abroad, found a club she was deeply involved with, made great friends. She has enjoyed Colby and grown intellectually and emotionally. We will all miss Colby.

alumni here,...you must realize and remember, that this school was established in 1946, for american combat troops in 1946, to re-induct them to civilian american society after wwii.

The M to F ratio is typical of almost every college now. It's not unique to LUC. Most are 63 or 64% F with 37 to 36% M. Heterosexual white males are leaving higher education and choosing other paths. I hope you ladies prefer Indian and Muslim husbands. This is who your peers will be. Islam is a great religion, right? Just don't mention your body count or post pics online and you'll be fine! 😆

I went to CSUN 25 years ago. I did not like it. The teachers were not friendly, and I felt they really did not care what students thought. For example, when I turned in my transcripts for evaluation, I had to turn them in to a quonset hut because they were moving. An elderly woman said, I'll take them; you have nothing to worry about. I asked for a receipt. She hesitated as if she was offended that I did not trust her. Well, she gave me a receipt, and they ended up losing three of the six transcripts. I talk with my evaluator, and she required me to send in a receipt that I got from the elderly lady; so I did. The evaluator, "Karen," said that she knew who signed the receipt, but that I would still have to send in additional transcripts because she couldn't do anything. It did not matter about my feelings on the matter; it was like I was lucky to be attending college and to keep my mouth shut. CSUN is a conservative school, where you do not have a right to education; it's a privilege, and you better be darn sure that you appreciate that privilege even though it's crappy education.

In my experience you will do best at Western if you are not responsible for your own rent. It is very difficult to find a job, me and lots of people I've met have had a ton of trouble actually getting hired at the places that do exist, and local businesses pay on the lowest end of the scale, even though rent is expensive. I've had unprecedentedly bad experiences since coming out to western NC due to both being unable to find a job (going hungry and nearly becoming homeless) and because of the actual jobs I've had (went through things I don't even want to talk about, and even changed my major after one experience that shouldn't have happened). I would leave but my programs aren't eligible for online learning, and Western is the only university I can afford that's in a town even remotely safe. I'm considering just dropping out of college at this point.

Im online and it’s sad that we pay so much at this school for mediocre products. And there are so many students that half ass there assignments. Then wonder why they failed that class. I say if you decide to go here, try to make a friend or 2. Make sure that friend isn’t just there for answers or distractions. I found a great friend here and I’m sure she and I will find a good job after this and will work on many projects together.
