I don't to bash on RE,because i like the brand , but compared to the Guzzi it felt like they screwd a bench on a frame , put an engine in it and done... The Guzzi is way more of a motorcycle. Im also a Triumph fan , but what can justify their asking price? They really are getting ridiculously expensive... Guzzi for me , all day with little niggles and all 😊

I think the Harley would find it difficult to keep up on the twisties.
@YouMotorcycle12 сағат бұрын
Yes, the ground clearance, weak stock suspension, and imprecise handling would limit it. The Sportster is nimble, but not precise. There are no twisties within an hour of my home though, so it doesn't really change things for me. If I went out to where the twisties are it would be on my BMWs anyway.

Even if I could get a newer V7 I would still probably get the Harley for the simple reason that I have owned a sportster before and the aftermarket support is endless! I could do anything I want to a sportster, and I can do it for cheap! You can even mod the engine with that EVO to get more power should you decide to. The Harley sportster is just an easy motorcycle to own. Btw, I would highly recommend that you check out DK Customs for some basic engine mods. They have air breathers that will allow you to reroute your blow by from the breather to outside the engine. They also offer a cheaper way to change the fuel mapping and enrich the air/fuel mixture and gives you an immediate and very noticeable bump in power and helps the engine run better. They are just little devices that plug into the sensors on the exhaust. They work!

Also, the resale value of a HARLEY is very decent. They hold their money well, not so sure about the V7 holding its money. For people who use bikes everyday, as do you, the sportster is the winner as you say, you can alter it to fit you, instead of you altering yourself to fit the bike. This, for me, is why Harleys are an all-around win. Sports bikes are like 200MPH to get to Tesco! What's the point, and who needs their weekly shopping that urgent. As a weekend warrior machine, the V7 is probably an absolute win. The niggles just arent relevant. Either way, to have the privilege to ride a bike is the ultimate win. Ride safe 🎉

I’ve had the V7 and you are bang on, lovely bike out of the box, but if you want to customise it you will normally have to pay quite a bit, now have an interceptor, and the bits to make it suit me are cheaper, more readily available and therefore make the bike more suited to me. Touring seat, fork gaiters and sump guard all fitted, for very low cost, the rear suspension is a bit iffy but Hagon in the uk do replacement shocks for 220 pounds. So as you say “out of the box” the V7 2 was a better bike, but saving £2000 on the price new, still save a lot after the improvements. Really enjoyed the video

Plethora of parts, new and used, aftermarket and OEM parts! It blows my mind how much I was able to transform this motorcycle for about $600 US, all either shipped to my door or bought within a 20 minute drive of my house (except the exhausts, 45 minutes lol)! Spoiled for choice with the Sportster! Any V7 aftermarket and used parts being sold locally? *crickets* :(

Just came across this vid by chance, I bought my 2019 reg HD Street Rod over 2 years ago second hand, it's the 6th bike and the 29th motor vehicle I've owned to date and have also ridden a shedload of other makes and models both larger and smaller, after fitting my XG750A with 9cm high Z bars, a bobber seat covered in 10cm foam, a 3D gel seat and lambswool cover over the top, a Craftride muffler, a homemade pannier rack with 2 x 25ltr pannier bags & 80ltr tail bag attached, EBC X floating bobbin brake disks front and rear, a stainless steel rear mudguard, a taller front fairing, engine bars fitted with front highway foot pegs and two spot/fog lights, I can't fault this fun to ride little gem of a bike in any way shape or form, with now 7.5 K on the clock it's never let me down once along with being economical to run, it also has a decent fuel consumption that gets me around 57 to 63 MPG if i take it easy and at 5'7" it's the perfect size for me. Regardless if they still made these bikes in India, USA or on a deserted Island in the middle of nowhere I'de be trading mine in for a 2025 model if they were still in production, luv em or hate em, I'm still diggin mine. 😎

Everyone has an opinion on every bike, whether or not they have owned or ridden it. Having been away from motorcycling for many years, probably 15 to 20, I have not been spoiled by the mod cons and comforts of modern bikes, so my opinion is based solely on my own personal experience. A comparison, for example, on a new Interceptor vs a second-hand Triumph is slightly offset in price, better to compare either new for new or both second-hand if cost effectiveness is a consideration. I bought my Interceptor without having ridden it and based my decision on its, to me, beautiful modern classic look. It's a 2020 model and factory spec except for the touring seat. I did buy it from a friend who knew I was thinking about getting back in to motorcycling as I have recently retired, so I did have trust in the seller, knowing he looks after his bikes, which by the way is now 5 years old, granted with very low milage. As an older rider, the first thing that struck me was the weight. It is quite heavy stood still or pushing it around, but I did soon get used to it, good exercise for an old git 😅. The bike is just so good when riding it. The gear box is silky smooth, no discerning vibration at higher revs, power roll on is excellent, and with so much low-end torque, it's great. Power is perfect, it will give me 60 to 70 all day, smooth as butter but with ample power when I need it. Suspension seems very adequate for its purpose, and I find the brakes very good. Whenever I take the bike out, I am guaranteed to turn a few heads in a positive way, based on its looks and sound. I have the stock exhaust and love the sound it makes. As I said, my opinion is based solely on my experience, but considering I paid £3k for a 4 year old bike with only 1400 miles in the clock, I couldn't be happier, the smile per mile gives me all I want at my time of life. Thank you for your honest review and ride safe.......🙏

OK so to be quite honest I own a RE Himalayan since 2018 with 44000 miles,, when the Interceptor first came out my dealer gave me one to test.. I had not gone more then 2/3miles and I just took it back,,I found the engine gutless ,not enough torque .. I have rode a Triumph Scrambler 900 and wow what a great bike ,eck but the price is out my pay scale.. The Guzzie,,for me it has only 2 things going for it,,,Shaft drive,,and single point injection..otherwise a big no no. So I waited and waited ,,looked at many cheapish bikes never saw anybike that I kindof liked.. UNTIL a couple of years ago BSA came back to the market...they have been away 50years... And I liked what I saw ,,a 650 single in a retro style..But the price seemed a little fruity to me (£500 more then a RE 650) so I waited and watched.. There was much delays of deliveries of the BSA and a price drop,,,that affected second hand value and buyer confidense ,,so dealers wanted rid of them ,,and prices drop ,,I bought a 2023 model with 500mile on it for £3700 (about $4000) OK this bike is really well put together,,it looks retro ,,the engine is an old Rotax unit,,BMW used the same motor..and the gearing(5 speed ) is spot on 70mph at 4500revs,, and it not so slow ,,it has more GO then a RE650...... OK Sometimes it pays to wait,,, another thing if you get the bike at the right price ,, do your own oil change,,and tell the dealer to F**K off .....ok I,v subbed...... but if you do the influencer thing ,then I,ll be gone

Reading some of the unrealistic “opinions” of the 650 vs the Guzzi / Bonneville by you & your commenters is ridiculous! Owning a “bike” is an adventure & an “attitude”: Price point alone between the 3 bikes you were comparing is enough to end your story? Yes, there are “lemons”, but riding a motorcycle is an ‘attitude’ & for the price of the bike you were comparing, the 650 is an incredibly good buy! You’d think the Brit’s would have had their Bonneville’s down to a fine art, but they don’t, they have quality “issues” too? They just can’t do it, been there, done that, (Truimph TR3, Sprite & Jaguar autos), as well? AND??????, PRICE? There was no realistic comparison for your decision to axe the 650? Better to have just said, “I’m tired of it & want to try something new or different”. The Guzzi or Bonneville are expensive rides any way you cut it. What I’ve found over the years is this: people who complain the most about maintenance issues are people who do NOT service & maintain their vehicles or their expectations & ignorance of moving parts is WOKE unrealistic. For the price, the Interceptor is the best buy for the money hands down for most riders simply because, statistically they will put less than 12,000 miles on whatever they purchase? R
