The way she was loved you would think she landed on the beaches of Normandy with the first wave. Yet her job was just as important as the fighting troops.

Back in the 1060s my Uncle Wilbur came to visit . He was my father’s cousin. We lived in a little country town in NSW called Adelong which is near Tumut down south. Naturally we ended up around the old Wagner piano enjoying a lovely performance until the piano died with a split pin board. Unfortunately I never saw Wilbur again but I have a few of his cherished records. I was surprised when this vid popped up. Thanks.

She was England's singer that helped them through WWII a horrible time. This concert was very emotionally charged with memories of the war and many lost loved ones. Her voice sounds impeccable for 40 years later.❤

I am really old born in the 1940 's . Our great country has been taken over . Vera Lynn was an icon . Why are we just sitting back . To allow this abomination.

In the difficult times in which we live, it is heartening to hear the voice of one who buoyed up British morale when all seemed nearly lost in World War II. Ms Lynn and her confident voice is a tonic for any time of distress.

An ancient manual ticket machine. I bet you needed to pay "Exact Fare Please" on Msnchedter corporstion bus services back then. Bring back Corporation buses all over the UK. It waa much more enjoyable to travel than it is today and you didn't lose your local bus aervice or under threat of losing your local bus service if it hasn't already been lost.

Wow, I thought Frankie Laine was the original singer, this version predated Frankie's 1951 version. Thank you for posting.
