You’re missing the most important point - he is simply not intelligent enough to consistently follow the tactical plans the Slot system demands. How many times can a player be caught offside before you start to wonder if he has the ability to learn from his mistakes? Clincher for me was the Macca interview with Lineker. From similar part of the world, bit longer in the country but he is fluent in English. Like perfect understanding and articulation. Sorry to say but Nunez is light years away from that level of intelligence

Aw, Copey 🫶🏾... What makes it even worse is theres tests that show Temu clothes often use toxic dyes as they dont have the same safety tests that even cheap brands like Primark have to pass.

He’s got the raw materials. Anna that’s the issue. There’s been little to no refinement in his time here - and that’s got to be on the coaches as much as him. I want going to succeed but even I’m beginning to think that he may have to join a club with a system where he is the focal point. If he does then he could fulfil the undoubted potential.

Some context for Djibril Cisse, we were in the first qualifying round of the Champions League 05/06 cause UEFA didn’t like us qualifying by winning the thing so 4 of that tally came in July and August against Welsh TNS, Lithuanian FBK Kaunas and Bulgarian CSKA Sofia as well as 2 goals against CSKA Moscow in the Super Cup. A little bit padded.

I'm not jumping on Nunez's back but not sure the forward comparisons are fair. Rather than goals, would be interested to see chance conversion. Surely Nunez gets more chances than any of the forwards that he's being compared to. Most of them we also knew were nowhere near good enough too.

Haven't the LFC fanbase overall been very patient with the ownership and forgiven them time after time when they try pull very underhanded moves, come on now its about time real heat was applied to the ownership they have taken full advantage of the forever patient LFC fanbase for long enough now, turned the other cheek long enough now, after they keep on slapping us come every transfer window. They turned a initial £300 mill investment into a asset worth around £3 billion what excuse do they have for not forking out proper funds for transfers our top players have given their all can't keep flogging them?
@thelatechallengepodcast3 күн бұрын
Mate stuff like this you just have to read the room. What is it you think the ‘fanbase’ are going to do about the ownership? Liverpool are top of the league, top of the CL table, in all the cups. And FSG aren’t taking anything out of the club or putting it in any kind of financial peril. Sure, we’d all love the three players signed up and the squad bolstering for the rest of the season. But it would stink of entitlement (and simply wouldn’t garner mass support) to randomly attempt to oust the owners now. On what basis? How? And to what end? They tried to sell the club and no one was buying. Personally think anger, protest and ‘applying heat’ should be saved for the right moments and this isn’t one of them. Otherwise you can just look like a shouty person who likes hashtags.

@@thelatechallengepodcast We need owners who can take a loss financially not ones that penny pinch always, todays footballers are not very good and are extremely over valued so the ownership will not get value for money like in past eras, and this ownership is not ideal in todays era of the game not their fault granted but when the pundits and fanbase have not been calling out the decline in players skillsets over many seasons then it has resulted in needing owners who can take a hit on "Dud Players" look at Nunez a £75 mill investment who plays more like one of our mates who thinks his a striker down the park and has two left feet, with FSG the manager has to persist and persist with such players who simply don't meet expectations which always costs us come the final push in the season, we have been top of the EPL almost every season at one point or another, top at Xmas and usually teams top after Xmas win the EPL but not us, yet 90% of the time in great winning positions be it EPL or UCL we have failed to cross the winning line in 1st position and fresh legs pre season or even in Jan would have more than likely got the team over the line in 1st place, we have been in line with two possible Quads deep into the season the past two seasons and we ended up with two tin pot domestic cups. The Usual suspects have already been injured and just recently returned and they more than likely, like every season will get injured again and like always the season will implode. Its not fans like myself who misread the room its been our owners for quiet some time now.

My Gran doesn't know much about football either. Can she come on the podcast? Stats are similar to Firmino yet we want rid of Darwin. Who else is going to come in? They'll be 2nd or 3rd choice, so you won't get a big name. And not even Haaland and Isak would get any supply when we have three wingers that always come inside and shoot. 2nd half vs Southampton was a prime example. Darwin's movement was great for about 3-4 attacks, got himself in space and attacking the near post. Yet, not one single ball came in from Salah, losing the ball or going backwards.
@thelatechallengepodcast3 күн бұрын
Get her on mate yeah - be interesting to see if she thinks Nunez has the same value to the team as Firmino.

@@thelatechallengepodcast She says Yes! I was at the LFC vs Benfica game where Darwin ruined our defence (3-3). I'd hate to lose him as when he is allowed to play wide, he's dangerous.
@thelatechallengepodcast3 күн бұрын
@ Was at that game too. I don't think there's an argument that he's capable, or dangerous, it's whether he can do it regularly enough and has the elite mentality. Bobby was so good that some of his LFC team-mates said he was the best he played with. You wouldn't expect them to say the same of Nunez.

Spot on Mo it should have been second yellow and a red. Never should have been able to be on in that position to score, it’s a ridiculous rule that enables a player to foul and also makes the person come off to receive treatment and is enabled to score.

Take them Nunez stats against previous strikers with a nuance, he plays in a side that creates far more chances than the Baros, crouch, etc sides, put Nunez in them sides he wouldnt be hitting 18g in a season. Nunez is a striker that in the clinch moments 9 times out 10 fluffs it. Nice lad, works hard just not good enough to be in a title run as your main man, and when your spending £75 mil, thats what you expect, its an area we can upgrade and hes a sellable asset. Time to move on.

There is far context required than this mate. Difference being is Nunez is playing in a side far, far, far better than the other forwards Mo went through. What would be fairer is stats around conversion of chances and number of chances etc. Nunez is shite and its a shame but it is what it is.
