Great interview! As an artist, I have the same fears as Ali. But understand Ai has its advantages as well. This was a great interview. It’s good seeing someone touch on this. Hope us creators don’t get overlooked and moved out the way.

Approximately, 10 years ago, There was a individual being prosecuted in Los Angeles for ‘fraudulent claims’. /Gathering Indigent individuals to file ‘false medical claims’,’ Only to bill the county/state for these services. Now, With Gavin’s ‘New Reform,’ Foreign national’s healthcare will be covered by the American taxpayer. Isn’t this a criminal act? It’s safe to say that it includes ‘Mis-appropriation of state/County funding?’ Gavin Newsom vetoes our capital punishment law, Then, Spends all the taxpayers money on ‘Complete Strangers.’ That’s not a good leader. / As a California voter, I would have never approved such healthcare. (Just so these people can return back to their country?). How does Gavin Newsom plan to ‘recover the cost’ when the person has left the country?). /Plus, ‘WHY’ is Gavin Newsom ‘Accommodating Communist leaders?’ Gavin Newsom should be boycotting these countries. Not ‘embracing’ them. I have ‘no trust’ in Gavin Newsom. I hope he moves to China where he belongs. He can take his relative, Nancy Pelosi, With him. That would please most Californians. Communist China is no friend of the American people.

Great and challenging talk! in the end, AI is an instrument, a great and disruptive instrument but just that, as many are saying, it will depend on how one and organizations use AI to empower and expand or do harm, Human ingenuity is unique, Best!

I believe my life is defined, our lives are defined, by so much data, that we the individuals could not hope to personally manage all of our own data, we will have to cherry pick what we personally will manage & what we will outsource.

It's probably best not to patent any AI. Because you want it to be transparent so you can modify and steal it and make money. It's best not to tell anyone anything.

A useful and interesting lecture by Karim. The live demo of using chatgpt to generate responses and how those at things that we (the collective we) need to understand and appreciate is only beginning to become obvious. ChatGPT et al, have major challenges but ignoring their existence by not using it, is short sighted and shortchanging us. Lots to think about.

1:13:20 In 10 or 20 years time it will be interesting to look back onto the overall level of understanding of people using AI. Have they gained more insights, become more knowledgable, how about their capabilities to work independently without AI then, how about IQ development which is currently said to be reduced because of the use of smartphones. What negativ effects may turn up which we havent yet considered?

The vaccine example was not a good one because the speed to market was mostly due to government support and relaxing of FDA requirements. Notice that none covid companies are in the top list that followed. Institutional regulation is part of the problem and its solution. Other examples fall short as comparing the Rembreant that was made as a piece of physical art and the digital version. There is going to be a large time lag to account for raking light and other effects. And the digital example was poor in comparison. But yes mid journey is fantastic as well as other diffusion models. At this point I stopped listening to this talk.
