What would cause the lift arms from not staying in the up position
@RedRookForge6 ай бұрын
you lift them and they come down slowly on their own? Id look for a break in one of the hydraulic lines somewhere, if not that it could be the control lever is broken sending a false signal to slowly lower them, or contamination in the fluid causing the valve to not enter the up-hold position fully. could also be the little plunger is worn on the sides. how fast are they coming down and does it matter if the machine is off or on?

Definitely the easiest DIY job for a car. Hard to screw it up. Just make sure you have the right parts that actually fit. And!! Make sure you run a burn in on the pads before reg driving and it will be fine

This is a very helpful video but just a suggestion: there's no need to open the brake lines. Open the master cylinder cap, buy a caliper piston clamp (can't remember the exact name of the tool, but even Walmart sells it), put the old brake pad up against the piston, install the tool, tighten it until you can't tighten it anymore by hand. Loosen and ensure the caliper is fully pressed in. Don't open the brake lines, too much risk of breaking off the bleeder screw, messy, and a lot of work.

had to change calipers 😅

I just priced 4 shocks for my toyota. $262 for all 4. KYBs. And I have a cheap spring compressor. I can only imagine what a dealer would charge for the job or even most independent shops. $1000 or more?
@RedRookForge Жыл бұрын
Called out of curiosity couple years ago and just the rears for me was gonna be $200+ in labor alone (at a cheap shop.. god knows what the dealer woulda asked). crawled underneath with a 17mm (iirc) and 4 bolts later.. badabing
@samuelellis7459 Жыл бұрын
Why would you’d disconnect the brake line? No need.
