Where can I find sheet music for the Rutter arrangement in the video? The brass fanfare at the beginning differs from what I see on all the scores online for the Rutter arrangement.

It is refreshing to see the soloists also take part in the choir. And the choir & orchestra together feel like one great vibrant musical instrument. The bass solo "Thus saith the Lord" and the tenor "Thou shalt break them" are absolutely bone chilling! Bravo to the clarino soloist in "The Trumpet shall sound!" A beautiful Messiah all around! 😊🎼

Handel's Messiah is by far my favorite musical piece. I listen to it all year long. Since the pandemic, there has been a reduction of opportunities to hear it in person. I'm grateful for the ability to hear it online. My sister is also a committed member of Trinity Church.

12:00 pm 12/23/24 Such a profound performance! The soloists were inspirational as they seemed to put their whole heart and soul into the music. There was only one person in the choir who made sure she stood out from the rest. How unfortunate to have one person's pride try to spoil it for the rest. However, what a joy and blessing it has been to experience this profound event. I must not forget the conductor. He was magnificent!! I shall definitely watch this again tomorrow. May God bless you all, especially in all you do for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Magnificent performance, excellent balance throughout. Enrico Lagasca outstanding performance. The Baroque trumpeter played stylishly but he did not measure up supporting the powerful Lagasca. If he was standing next to the tenor he could have projected better.

I watched the livestream and I am listening to the recording for the third time since then. This is one of the best performances of “Messiah” I have ever heard. Every soloist, every musician, the entire choir, the choristers, and above all Dame Jane Glover who brought them all together, was magnificent. I hope Trinity Church seriously considers releasing this as an album. It is a performance for the ages.

Just a little late to the conversation. This performance was extraordinary. A few new faces in the ensemble along with a few old friends. This performance is one I look forward to every year and it never fails to satisfy. Thank you once again Trinity Wall Street for this annual celebration of the majesty of Christmas.

I watched this live-stream and it was dazzling. An outstanding Messiah through and through: musicians, chorus, conductor, orchestra. (That said, I might have given the timpanist some softer mallets. In that space, the timpani sounded like a couple of big bass drums being played with a hammer! It completely blocked out the singers at certain points!!) But a magnificent rendition nonetheless.

Such a thrilling rendition of orchestra, chorus, and soloists. No Christmas would be complete without it. Having sung and now being in a position to listen brings delight on both accounts. Thank you for posting and sharing this magnificent gift of George Friedrich Handel's compilation of transcendent scripture and music that lifts the soul to ever more transfiguring heights.

A wonderful ,amazing, exquisite performance of absolute beauty. The best performance of the Messiah I have come across. As mentioned earlier there are so many outstanding soloists forming a wonderful choir . The brilliant, ultra talented musicians forming the orchestra deliver a superb performance. The maestro is marvellous and she produces a spectacular event. I believe she sets the pace and pathos of the oratorio at exactly how it is designed to be played. I just wish my dear late mother could have seen this performance in this wonderful church- she, like I, was a great lover of the Messiah. Bravo, and thank you all for something truly special.

Fantastic performance by all! Wonderful chorus and superb orchestra! Bravo! Dame Jane Glover has created another performance masterpiece. The female soloists were truly outstanding: the bright tones of Madeline Apple Healey, the honeyed voice of mezzo Ellie Sutherland, the burnished tones of mezzo Pamela Terry whose "He was Despised" was heartbreakingly beautiful, the exciting notes of soprano Margaret Haigh, the glorious soprano Shabnam Abedi who sang "Glad Tidings", and the angelic voice of the soprano who sang "I know that My Redeemer Liveth" but I couldn't locate her name. Also the commendable Enrico Lagasca in "The Trumpet Shall Sound" and the superb baroque trumpeter. On a non-musical observation, the shimmery grey/gold gowns of the women were truly glorious and visually stunning.
