I saw him live at the Fillmore East ... the opening act for the Jefferson Airplane. The lights went way down, and Arthur Brown came down the aisle sitting atop a chair, on a raft, and carried by four guys. As they got to the stage ... he leapt up on to the stage and his headless bursts into flames. He is dancing around the stage doing this number .... . Awesome, unforgettable and insane ..... Absolutely tore up the Fillmore.

My friends and I used to get high listening to this. We listened to it while were tripping. Even now, it's still fun to listen to. I's still heavy poetry and a driving band.

I saw them in Boston twice... They did some Cream Standards like "Politician" Kick ass i may be old but i saw all the good bands.. Saw Wild West Show at Suffolk Downs with the James Gang a couple of years earlier. some fool threw a lit sparkler up on the stage it got caught in Leslie's afro, show ended soon after. The stuff i remember !

The fire poem is evolution and extinction in the clearest terms. It's sad aholes try to separate religion from science when they're the same entity like a caterpillar and a butterfly.....the mindless beast should have moved earlier instead of being a snake in the grass and doing just enough...that's the secret

I remember this band and particularly this song as it coincided with recovery from a car accident back in 1969 when I was 19. Recovery was quick but this song will forever remain a marker for that period of my life. Thanks for posting on KZbin.
