Better clamping procedure can limit on how much you plane in the end. Take the time to line the joints better and use more clamps in between the existing clamps and you can line the lip so it minimizes the protruding lip. If the planks not the same dimensions then focus on one side. If you don’t have an even work surface well then ur out of luck. I know these are big pieces and might have been warped a little. Best of luck on your project. Gonna get a planner thanks to you video 🤙

Looks like you could use a jointer for better glue joints, I could see gaps… Great tools though I own one

Hi, you used your own toe kick/kickboard. I noticed that the backboard is short. Were you able to use the original toe kick to cover the gap?

you are not supposed to stand them up from the side (the part when they fall apart in your video). I just built yesterday 2 pax, all went fine, you just have to follow the instructions.

I doubt it was all only about the cost. Sure a few bucks might have been saved (although I highly doubt it) unless those tools were already there. There is a much bigger lesson here.

I have the same one and I love it - the "taking off like an airplane tip" is gold. I would also advise checking the depth dial every pass because it makes an incredibly convenient handle but also turns REALLY easily.

What was clearly needed was reading the freaking instructions. It clearly tells you to raise it from the ground towards the back side not the side.

That's the great thing about wood working. There's 100 ways to do anything. Some are easier than others but as long as you're happy with the end result it doesn't matter how you got there.
