Hey Ray! I wish I was good enough to have a Buddy Rich exercise ;) If I was that good I'd be more than happy to share it. I don't know if I described my channel or my history on my home page. I played a lot from the late 70s to the late 90s and people actually paid me to play so I must have been pretty good at least lol. I had to quit playing completely in 2000 due to family obligations. I never picked up a stick again til about 5 years ago. And I haven't been able to practice or play much during that time bc I just don't have anyplace to play w/o neighbors complaining. I really wish I could help. Best regards... Michael

What wood are the drums made of?
@jmb925553 ай бұрын
The Stage Customs Advantage is 1 outer ply of birch with an inner ply of falkata (not sure but I think it's similar to oak) with Philippine mahogany inner plies.

Hi. What batter head is that black one? Sounds warm and round instead of that cold clear one I've seen in other videos.
@jmb92555 Жыл бұрын
Great question bc I remember this despite the time gap. It seems that head is only made in 14" and is made for snare drums. I loved the sound and so I went looking for heads like that for the rest of the drums. I don't recall the model but I may have some old pics of that drum w/ that head. It was sold a long time ago.

I'm glad this vid helped. I wish I'd made more. I've owned a lot of cars ;) The Nissan/Datsuns have been my favorites, except for a 2003 Acura CL Type S 6 speed. That car was too much fun. I drive a '97 Mercury Villager now. same as a Nissan Quest. The most helpful thing I could show on that vehicle is how to relocate the knock sensor. Nissan made it virtually impossible to access and replace. It's much easier to relocate it. Stay safe

Cats and drums are two of my favorite things. Did you ever install coated heads on these toms? I mentioned I added a black PDP 16x16 to my little Venus set to round it out. I started playing a double pedal on the Mapex 18" bass in 2000 (played single pedal for 23 years to assure my Bonham bass drum foot was indelible before the changeover and played my hi-hats 4" apart to develop a long left foot stroke because I knew eventually I'd play a double kick). The definition is unlike any other double bass player I've heard---young drummers all want unnecessarily large drums. And guitar players who went out of their way to disrespect me as a single bass drummer suddenly thought I was Billy Cobham. I learned the trick to double bass playing by walking behind Billy at one of his clinics to see what he was doing. It wasn't jackshit except running mindlessly in place while accenting on his multitude of toms and snare. I tried to tell guitarists there was nothing to double bass, but they chose to remain deluded but, as you know, guitars are a necessary evil in rock music. It did take a year get up to speed. Then I saw Simon Phillips play paradiddles twice as fast with his feet as he simultaneously played them at half speed with his hands then reverse them without missing a beat. When I can do that I'll feel like I've accomplished something in this life; till then I'll cling to my amateur status. I should've taken lessons and learned to read bass clef---now at age 67 I'm just a bundle of bad drumming habits. If you'd like a glance at my much maligned Ludwigs in my single bass days they can be seen at kzbin.info/www/bejne/j4iclZhtdtuoY7s

One thing I didn't mention. It's a good idea to buy a thread chaser. The threads on one of mine were galled or something and I had to use a chaser to clean up the threads in order to get that sensor to thread in. I've had to do that on a spark plug hole also. www.amazon.com/Lisle-12230-Oxygen-Sensor-Thread/dp/B000XETMW0
@TaylorMadejdm19754 жыл бұрын
I can easily see the oxygen sensor to the left as you're standing under the hood and I can also see one under the car that runs from front to back the screws in upfront, but I'm having trouble locating the one right past the curve of the pipe up front would it be easier to remove the splash shield and also the very back oxygen sensor guessing removing the wheel would make that easier...?
@jmb925554 жыл бұрын
I don't own this car anymore so I can't go out and check. It would be a good idea to remove splash shields. There's two ways to go about locating any of the sensors. 1. the plugs are all in front so you could just follo the wiring down to the sensor. 2. Each upstream sensors (aka sensor 1) is on an exhaust manifold and each downstream sensor is on a catalytic convertor. The pipe up front is actually an odd shaped cat convertor. You should be able to see how shiny the curved pipe is. I had to replace that cat. The sensor on that pipe is Bank 1 sensor 2.

@@arturovaldez7736 Love it man. It's probably 6 or 7 years old now and never gave me any problems. Just filters and fuel lines. Tanaka is the same machine if you see hose on sale. If youre more comfortable w/ a backpack that Kawi is okay. Very light. I just like my handheld for the convenience plus it really does put out some air. I've bought, repaired, and resold a few blowers. I put the Hitachi up against a PB500 Echo and it was even.
