This reminds me of a scene I wrote where the protagonist is trying to guess who her future love interest has a crush on... her, she has a crush on her (and the protagonist is entirely oblivious). "What's his name? Is it-" "No." "But I haven't even guessed yet!" "You don't have to."

In a perfect world Carmen Sandiego would rob museums and return the treasures to where they belong. But its still fun to watch.

A good trans character in a tv show i watched recently was Viktor in Umbrealla academy. When they came out everyone took a bit to get used to it, but it dosent become their only defining character trait from what I see.

You mentioned She-Ra, and I think every character in the show is lgbtq+. I could be wrong on that, but I know for sure that Perfuma is also trans femme

Yeah I don’t think it’s an original either, I swear there was one without all the lgbtq+ characters before it but I could be mistaken though I guess if everyone is lgbtq+ they don’t need to make much of a point about it because it’s considered the norm

4:11 can double trouble be considered as trans? or just non-binary? because it seems like they were born as a shpaeshifter and they have been all their life, so perhaps their AGAB was also non-binary

you have a very good point about the importance of casual representation and normalising queer characters, however, that mentality can also lead to or be based off the approach that queer persons/ shows shouldn't be so 'in your face' about it. heteronormative and cisgender shows do openly discuss romantic feelings, preferences, struggles and their experiences with gender roles, so it's an important and casual part of representation. just kind of hinting at underlying queerness is a) more often than not denounced by more bigoted viewers ('you're making it gay') and it therefore leaves room for queerness to be explained as 'interpretation' instead of standing by it, b) especially in larger productions like this, it pretty much resembles a 'don't ask, don't tell' policy which c) makes it hard to differentiate between actual representation and queer baiting. you're absolutely right that especially trans side characters shouldn't have their identity reduced to being trans and it shouldn't be a plot device either, however, especially if it's your main character and the story *is* about being trans, there is nothing wrong with having focused representation. that's direly needed as well, especially since being trans is such a long and exhausting journey and (if you're trans/ have trans friends you'll definitely know) sometimes really does feel like the biggest and/or only thing in your life, already bc it's just always going to be there. the most important thing is probably making queer representation for queer people and not 'representation' as in 'representative' for (all) queer persons to a cishet audience. hope that was understandable, i'd love it if someone wants to share their thoughts. nice to see a german channel talking about lgbtq+ issues, hab auch letztens meine Seminararbeit geschrieben :)

LE CHEVRE AND EL TOPO WERE CONFIRMED??? LET'S GOOOOO! Also, this is so true. I hate when people emphasize sexuality and gender, and when they're literally possibly not implied to be gay in the media, people tend to be like "OMG THOSE CHARACTERS ARE SO GAYYY" when you don't even know. What if they were SUPPOSED to be friends, bro? I love casual representation because it ACTUALLY normalizes queer people imo. I root for more representation like this in cartoons instead of people blatantly stating that this person is gay or bi or trans or whatever.

(love the show don't tell method makes me think of s class I raised, since in media with this kind of relationships the whole thing is about the story or the characters is their gay) Love the shoe don't tell cause honestly at times it feels like the characters relationship is everything and is the whole plot which if in romance is good and all but even in the genre of romance characters still have a personality and are more then what is so common in bl (hard to get into bl for this reason)

I always found it weird when lgbtq people were always focused. Its like mentioning something that likely does any tribute. I remember seeing a video with a black guy in it and somebody said "im so happy for the black community to included!!" and i remember laughing in disbelief because it was something that didnt need to be mentioned.
