Sadly this is a different Rutter arrangement from that which we are singing. Very confusing!

Thank you so much!! This has transformed our rehearsals, with everyone able to come in basically knowing the lines. There are mistakes in bar 50 and 59, at least according to the Oxford edition.

Spring, the sweet Spring, is the year's pleasant king; Then blooms each thing, then maids dance in a ring Cold doth not sting, the pretty birds do sing Cuckoo, jug-jug, pu-we, to-witta-woo! The palm and may make country houses gay Lambs frisk and play, the shepherds pipe all day And we hear aye birds tune this merry lay Cuckoo, jug-jug, pu-we, to-witta-woo! The fields breathe sweet, the daisies kiss our feet Young lovers meet, old wives a-sunning sit In every street these tunes our ears do greet Cuckoo, jug-jug, pu-we, to-witta-woo! Spring! This is basically unusable without showing your notation, because people would have to listen through it to detect the dozens of ways it can differ from their edition of the score.
@chorallines6 ай бұрын
Hi Cameron, as noted in the description, these rehearsal tracks are for my choir. Feel free to make your own if this one doesn't work for you. In case of interest, this is the edition we used: www.cpdl.org/wiki/images/5/58/Verily%2C_verily_I_say_unto_you_Tallis.pdf

I think its better to show the music score too
@chorallines8 ай бұрын
These videos are intended to replace practising individual lines in rehearsal, where choir members will have their own scores with annotations etc. It is preferable for choir members to get used to their own scores/editions. If you don't have a score, they are easily accesible on websites such as CPDL and IMSLP. Hope that helps!

One morning in the month of May, down by some rolling river A jolly sailor I did stray, when I beheld my lover She carelessly along did stray, a picking of the daisies gay And sweetly sung her roundelay, just as the tide was flowing O, her dress it was as white as milk, and jewels did adorn her Her shoes were made of the crimson silk, just like some lady of honour Her cheeks were red, her eyes were brown, her hair in ringlets hanging down She’d a lovely brow without a frown, just as the tide was flowing I made a bow and said, ‘Fair maid how came you here so early?’ My heart by you it is betrayed for I do love you dearly I am a sailor come from sea, if you will accept my company To walk and view the fishes play, just as the tide was flowing I am a sailor come from sea, if you will accept my company Just as the tide was flowing, was flowing, was flowing, was flowing No more we said but on our way, we gang’d along together The small birds sang and the lambs did play, and pleasant was the weather When we were weary we did sit down, beneath a tree with branches round For my true love at last I’d found, just as the tide was flowing
