Slide is not a surprise. It's just a consequence of the use that customer did for year. The UI3 is the best. Thank you for the short recap. I agree with the points you predicted, I hope much about DevMod.

AI Option is not showing in figma

Despite all the bells and whistles my impression is that developers don't even bother with Devmode. The "meh" reaction is more common than not. Sad but true. After I returned to Zeplin the handover process is smoother. It's more connected to markup in a rapid manner.

Panel resizing should have been there straight from the start. Seriously, I've been scaling UI elements since forever in almost all applications I'm using and Figma finally got around to it in 2024! It's like a car manufacturer introducing the airbag 😂

They should have either ditched FigJam or massively improved it for this years Config. By doing nothing and instead introducing Slides they signal they will just leave FigJam to rot. That's understandable as it's a crappy product, but this silent treatment is turning their backs on paying customers. And the greed game they are playing with Devmode and Slides seats is really disappointing. With the pricing model they have I doubt I will leave Zeplin for DevMode. Slides shows some potential for what it is but for the money we pay for Figma it should be included. They are starting to look like Adobe's apprentice.

I have been waiting for the slides feature since forever. Hopefully in the future we could see some sort of interplay with powerpoint like generating PPTX.

I specifically mentioned the make design using custom/existing design system, and the Figma VP of engineering replied "very high on our priorities". So... its coming. It's an obvious feature. - No breakfast yet :/

Figma slides doesn't export to ppt? guess i'm gonna have to continue using the pitch deck plugin then....

Figma Slides could potentially compete with Microsoft PPT if they allow edibility to "viewers" so that designers (owners) can share decks with marketing and marketing can still go in and tweak. text and things afterward. This is the big barrier that will cause businesses to not want to invest in Figma Slides. Marketing doesn't want slides they can't edit themselves, it's a pain point that can be somewhat alleviated if Figma slides has a different pay wall than normal Figma.
