Imagine if Amtrak had something like this, they wouldn't have to swap locomotives at WAS
@trainman197117 күн бұрын
They will soon. The Airo sets ill be dual-mode, and locomotive swaps at WAS and NHV (for the Vermonter) will soon be a thing of the past for NE Regional trains, as well as the Carolinian and Palmetto. The long-distance trains will continue to do locomotive changes as usual.

Rode one of those trains going back to Trenton from New York and connect to SEPTA, actually thought they took a SEPTA train to New York until I learned NJT actually has very similar train cars to the Silverliner IVs.

A lot of things happened with NJ Transit’s rail fleet in 2004. The entire Comet II fleet was rebuilt by Alstom and finished around this time, the Comet Vs were still being delivered, new bi-level coaches were currently under construction, new high speed diesel locomotives were starting to be delivered and new electric locomotives finished delivery early this year.

This Union Station was old before it was rebuilt & expanded passenger space in the mid 2010s. Man I really miss the Old Station of this Union station since I was a kid. Cool video.

Ah, yes, the Dinky. The first time I took a NJT train that was NOT the RiverLine was a train from Trenton to West Windsor to get this to Princeton for my video of Princeton Cemetery. Good times...good times.
