Jack's bouncers blocked the band exit behind the stage. He could have easily instructed them to allow fans out, but was too busy fleeing back to his trailer like a coward.

I wonder how much they pressured the owners of the club or their manager to use fireworks... it's just obviously a bad idea. Somebody must've been pressured into approving it.

Reading up on this story. Don’t know the band except for one song. There are three at fault IMO,. The fire marshal is the most to blame, the co that sent the wrong foam and the owners for not sorting their eyes and crossing t’s for the bar itself. Not Jacks or the band. But dumb to do it in the first place. They didn’t need it. Sad story

As far as I’m I concerned all band and crew are responsible for knowing how high the pyro fire shoots up in relationship to ceiling height. Being in a band is NOT just about playing music, but ensuring the safety of your fans during live events, especially if it includes pyro. As a guitarists I’ve played in many clubs like this, would have never even considered using pyro. It’s like setting ablaze in a house living room. Jack should have made a formal apology to all that were forever scarred by this tragedy within a few days and put blame aside. I also think it would have been commendable if he had publicly retired his version of the Great White name and moved on to other things. Nonetheless, RIP Jack.

In 1979, Jack Russell was convicted of a home invasion where he discharged a firearm that struck a woman. She recovered so that he could go on and become a rock star. He wrote a single that was indicative of the 80s date grape era, "Once Bitten." Then the fire occurred. I believe he's mournful of something. But the more human response was that of Daniel Michael Biechele, the tour manager who went against his lawyer's advice and pled guilty to all 100 deaths by manslaughter. He did less than three years behind bars.
