Enjoyed your video. Question ? Was there any sign of aquatic life during your dive, fish, crustaceans or underwater vegetation or other ? Or is the oxygen level in the water too low to sustain, has it been tested ?

Lovely footage of Croesor, great to see it. Let me know if you ever wanted to dive Cwmorthin!

Thanks for watching, love croesor both above and below, Ive walked down the the water in Cwm, just never with enough kit to dive, did you take Garry D in a year or two ago?
@TheAmazingAdventuresOfMiles2 жыл бұрын
@@marklovatt8346 Yes I think so, definitely a Garry, not sure of his second name. No diver as yet has reached floor I, at a depth of about 70 feet vertically. Let me know if you ever fancy trying it, I'd love to see it! Well, footage of it. I'm not a diver.

Great Video Mark. I have been surveying the levels in and out of hodge over the past few years. I have a picture of the main hodge pit empty of water before closure and it shows a level entrance about 6-10m below current water level. At the end of your video at 12mins 03sec (kzbin.info/www/bejne/boOxd3SfecZqp9U) you test one last tunnel and then say 'another time maybe' did you ever go back to this ?

Hey Mark, firstly great video. A group of experienced cavers including myself are looking at doing a Croesor to Rhosdd trip later this month and i was hoping you would be kind enough to give us an idea what state the fixed lines are in, although we'll take a few 30's, rigging, cable pulleys and maybes an inflatable raft regardless. It looked like there was sheath damage on the first pitch. Am i right in thinking we could just rig this pitch with our own 30m rope for all but the las person down who could strip out our 30 and knot pass the damaged section. Are there any other spots to watch out for. many thanks.k x

also when exactly was your trip.k x
@marklovatt83465 жыл бұрын
Hello, glad you liked the video, its fairly fresh, just two days ago (6th Apr) and was my first without diving equipment (take a look at my other videos if you're curious :) ). The fixed aids were fine, if a bit old/stiff with mainly 12mm used everywhere, the rope at the first pitch is worn around 2m from the floor, we swung to one side to prevent the need to descend past it. The zip line is two ropes now, a previous trip report I read indicated it to be wire, so take a pulley for this section and maybe consider some buoyancy aids, they made me feel more comfortable, the water is over 40m deep in places, the rest of the traverses where ok, assuming nothing goes wrong, maybe consider a rope to pull someone across if the slip etc, otherwise is a cracking trip.....enjoy!!

Mark Great Video - love to know where the mine is or arrange a dive one day. The only mine I have had the chance to dive in Wales is Dinas Silca Mines.
@marklovatt83467 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Dinas is a bit of a walk, but worth it :) This one is harder to reach, unless you own a landrover, probably your best bet would be to join UKMC, they're on facebook too, their members frequently organise dives, share 4x4's etc - facebook.com/groups/942722849094341/

It's strange, everyone seems to decompress near the big pile of rocks - nobody tells us to do it and yet we all do!
