The hotel in Varadero where the people want money from you before you get a drink....the barkeepers in the lobbybar and also these from the poolbar......first money, then drinks!! Too bad and a shame!!

We were there (Calis Beach) from the 2nd to 12th september 2023, price for the watertaxi is 70TL per person (one way).............30 to 32 TL to the pound (£)

A little bit of what we thought was seaweed landed on the beach on our last couple of days (END OF April) so it was probably the stuff you mentioned. Sea was very clean and lots of fish came as well. None before that. It was fairly windy for a few days as well.
