Wow. I saw these guys at the Brixton Academy 1980, maybe 1981 (I'm so fracking old), based on the strength of the 12" of this track. I don't think I appreciated how good they were. Good times.

Haven't seen this vid, I've heard the track and bought it, but this is much better, I feel that they were trying hard to be at least as good as Joy Division, love this

35 years later and the new ACR LP is out today. You can't doubt their perseverance and longevity. Especially when it's pretty much the same band members.

Sadly, it was Denise Johnson, who recently passed away. It seems that Hooky, gets on stage with almost any other band where ever possible; He has appeared playing some songs with The Durutti column 94/95. Section 25. Smashing pumpkins ( with Jack his Son). Peter Hook, should of left new order after Movement album. He would of been bigger than new order by himself. Like Paul Weller.🎤

I bought the ACR extended mix CD, still have it. I found ACR dance track a bit jarring, so for my friend at Manray Cambridge (More for myself) edited. So while searching on KZbin I found it but a more chilled version. Trapped indoors because of virus. He hit me up with a song requests to listen to that we loved in the 80s. I am so happy but.. The video reminded me of Xymox Imagination. The song uses a sample of 16 days - Gathering Dust - This Mortal Coil. Does anyone know where this song is available? I can’t find it on iTunes. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Best audio version. Thanks for uploading this beautiful song. Oddly, this passed me by in 1984 even though I was a huge New Order/Martin Hannett fan. Now if only this was availble on CD. Added to my favourites and 1980s playlist.

*Rhaphanidosis* is the act of inserting the root of a plant of the genus Raphanus (commonly known as a radish) into the anus. It is mentioned by Aristophanes as a punishment for adultery in Classical Athens in the fifth and fourth century BC. It is also allegedly a punishment for other sex-related crimes, such as promiscuity and homosexuality. Later classical references to the punishment include Catullus 15 where percurrent raphanique mugilesque (both radishes and mullets will run you through) is threatened against those who cast lascivious eyes on the poet's boyfriend. There is some doubt as to whether the punishment was ever enforced or whether the reference to it in the debate between Right and Wrong in The Clouds of Aristophanes[2] should be understood as signifying public humiliation in general. However, Nigette Spikes has it that when enforced as a capital punishment, tubers so deposited were chosen to be as rough as possible so as to cause death by internal hemorrhaging.
