Hi! That’s so awesome to hear! I use YNAB primarily to help tracking and getting those bigger picture financial summaries. For my HYSA I use Ally because while they don’t have the highest interest rate, they use buckets where you can have different sinking funds and organize money in one account. Hi!! It’s a cashless cash envelope system. So while I do not use cash for purchases, I’ve found that using prop money and physically putting them in envelopes helps me stay much more organized and accountable to what I’m actually spending. It’s also a fun way for me to save and stay motivated. I’ve been able to save SO MUCH more than I did before and I really do credit savings challenges for helping my family pay off our car loan much faster. Hope this helps!

That's one advantage of using prop money - my bills are always crispy 😂 They only get messed up if I myself do something to them. I've only ever seen crispy bills in real life when they've been gifted but never from the ATM or teller!

Hello! Thanks for the question, it’s a common one on my channel. There are several reasons why I use prop money but the 3 main reasons are 1) I don’t live close to my bank so going back and forth multiple times a month is just not feasible for me 2) I don’t feel comfortable having a lot of cash in my house. It gives me peace of mind to know that our money is safe in a bank and 3) I have more fun doing it this way and it’s been a lot more motivating for me to save and keep money organized. This method makes me feel more aware of how I spent my money vs just doing digital budgeting. The prop money feels a lot more tangible to me. Hope this helps explain my method!
