@@jakehouchin8965 I have a yoke, throttle quadrant and rudder pedals. I would say it would be almost impossible to fly with M&K because you need to be able to make fine adjustments without looking down. It is possible, but if you really want to enjoy it, a yoke or sidestick is a must.

Man, that's too much work, lol. My airline has different checklists, but we also use FMS speeds on takeoff. We fly the flight director, and retract at the F bugs, and let the airplane accelerate on it's own. Aside from being easier, it ensures speed restrictions are met on SIDs and STARS. We only use manual speeds for landing and any kind of go-around. Well, at various times during the flight for turbulence, short speed changes, or to increase climb rate if needed as well.
@burncycle46212 ай бұрын
Why are the speeds in manual? Does this version not model FMS speeds?
@CaptNabs2 ай бұрын
@@burncycle4621 At the time of the video no. The FMS was a very rudimentary facsimile. Evetually it will when the full FMS is implemented.

What throttle are you using btw? Bc if you have the Boeing throttle from Thrustmasters like me I can’t seem to figure out how to bind the thrust reverses
@TwitchGavi2 ай бұрын
Awesome video! You’re not supposed to turn off the auto throttle on final and manually control the throttle?
@CaptNabs2 ай бұрын
@@TwitchGavi Theoretically no. Leave the autothrust on and let it control the speed and reducd to idle in the flare. As pilots we keep our hand on the thrust levers to feel it pull back. We also can override and pull it off faster if we are fast on final (Stall Prot speeds on). But the system is designed to be left on through the flare.

Hello Captain, I'm a B737 simulator enthusiast. I came across your series of FSS Embraer 175 videos, I've become crazy about this bird thanks to your videos. Thanks to you, I'm learning to fly this bird and to understand the whole system. My only problem is the auto throttle, which I can't get to grips with. I have the tca airbus and boeing but I can't configure them to have the reverser. I've looked everywhere, there's no tutorial, even on the Flight Sim site the explanations are not clear. Could you please help me? I've missed several take-offs because of this auto throttle problem. Thank you in advance, Captain, and thank you again for everything you've taught me about this aircraft.
@CaptNabs2 ай бұрын
The autothrottle on the Embraer is tough to simulate without an actual moving quadrant. I have the Honeycomb yoke and I use the reverse levers which is not totally accurate, but its very hard to simulate the Embraer quadrant. You would need gates or detents to do it well. I kinda accepted that it would be a kludge with any throttle quadrant.

@OneBrightSun2 ай бұрын
@captnabs Really enjoying the videos! If you're interested, when we fly this airplane - after starting the APU and getting the APU GEN online we start a timer for a minute until we press the APU Bleeds ON. Not sure if that's common with everyone but debris and gunk can get in there, especially in the winter with the icing fluids - let it breathe a bit before we breathe it, and maybe more reasons! Happy Flying :)
@CaptNabs2 ай бұрын
@@OneBrightSun I honestly can't remember if that was policy at my company or not. It's been 7 years. But yes, some manufacturers even include that recommendation in the FCOM to wait 1 or 3 minutes to allow fluids to flush out of the system. The other reason is to allow the APU seals to reach operating temperature to ensure oil does not leak into the air path.

Great videos but I believe you misspoke on that last page with the TO Pitch. You said we’re remembering to keep that 11° in your example and set our horizontal stabilizer to it. As far as we’re being taught, we get pitch trim off our ACARS data and it’s more in the 3.x to 5.x range. I may have misheard. Great videos and looking forward to any that are showing the updated software.

@CaptNabs3 ай бұрын
@@yaredlemma5025 Nope. Passenger oxygen is not required for flight at or below FL250. This is why most turboprops are limited to 250. Not because the engines can't do it, but to save the weight and complexity of a passenger oxygen system.
