I can confirm this works. I have a 2016 Sportsman 570 that started having weird throttle issues. I troubleshot it and replaced the TPS and IAS, but didn't realize how precise the TPS had to be. Today I decided to give this a try. I used a computer power supply. A computer power supply 4 pin Molex connector has 5v on the red pin and ground on the black pin. I connected a piece of jacketed wire to one of the red pins and one of the black pins on the Molex connector. A 5v USB charger would work too, but the power supply has much better tolerance +/-. I then attached the wires from the Molex connector with small spade connectors to the pins on the TPS. Looking at the TPS connector from the wiring harness; orange is 5v in, green is voltage out, purple is the ground. I connected my red wire from the power supply to the left (orange) pin, connected the black wire to the right (purple) pin. I squeezed my red multimeter probe in to sit on the middle (green) pin and let the black probe sit on some bare wire where the black wire went into the Molex connector ground (set the multimeter to DC voltage and within voltage range .5-5v if it's not auto sensing). I then used a paperclip to jump the power supply to turn it on without a switch connected (ATX 24pin green to black pin jumper). The purpose is to supply the TPS 5v and measure what comes out of the middle pin. I can confirm that setting idle to .46v worked perfectly and my ATV runs great again! Thanks Jim for the video that pointed me in the right direction! I refuse to pay a dealer or shop their ridiculous prices to fix things when it can be done with common tools and some know-how. 👍

I paid $79 for mine a very very long timed ago. Best bore sighter ever built. I just used it to sight in a red dot on my son’s Sig Sauer air rifle. I came across this video because it’s been so long since I used it that I can’t remember and wanted to see if your video showed how to change the battery. Anyway I found a work-around by shining a flashlight on the back side of it to light up the crosshairs in it and it worked! I’m never giving this one up and will hand it down to my son.

It’s more than a bore sight. You can use it to predict POI before firing ANY rounds as long as you have a good idea of the rounds muzzle velocity.

I will say a Primos Tight Wad choke with TSS federal shot, will hammer a Turkey at 75 yards. I have tried multiple chokes the Primos isn’t costly and it works well with the 935.

I just found mine in a drawer that I had bought about 10 years ago. I used it 3 or 4 times and then just lost interest in guns. Anyway I came to YT to see how to change the batteries. It was the bee's knees as far as I remember.

Recently bought a 935 and found out it wouldn't shoot 2 3/4 very well. So I searched YT and found your video. Thanks, great info. Good video. I realize your original video is 3 yrs old but I, like some of the others, would like to see a video of the breakdown/clean/oil and reassemble.

What do you use for grease? I’ve just been using high heat grease on my 935 and the only think I can get to cycle through it is 3 or 3.5 and it’s picky about brand. I’ve put 300 3 inch shells through it so I figured it should be broken in by now as well.
@jimtaylor3544
@jimtaylor3544 3 жыл бұрын
Galen McDonough Slip2000 is my favorite grease, and the lighter you coat it the easier the guns parts will operate. I would make sure the 935s gas piston is clean under the fore grip and make sure the rail is lubed that is where the power of shell extraction comes from. I have seen shotguns with spotless chambers but the gas impingement system is dirty causing the ejection issues. I have had my 935 for 6 years now and it has been it the bottom of swamps in Alabama to muddy fields of Arkansas and it still is the best auto I own.

Jim Taylor , Thank you, yeah I’ll definitely try that maybe I’ve just been to heavy with the grease, I have cleaned the gas system multiple times, since it is gas operated and my main problem is stove piping shells. I’ll definitely look into that grease and just giving it a light coat

Great video. I was actually at a local gun shop handling the 930 and thought that was better because it would cycle the 2 3/4. But now that I know the 935 can cycle them I'll see about getting the 935.
