I just recently got back into hunting and trying to pick up any tips I can. We have been at Mendocino National Forest the last two weekends and have yet to see a forked horn.

We did not return to Mendo his year. We drove to Shasta-Trinity National Forest for 4 days of deer hunting. We did not see any bucks either there. I am thinking of trying hunting on private land rather than public.

I am a retired Forest Service Ranger ( 2 years ,served 34)from the Upper lake Ranger District. I spent a lot of comforting times down there, not only working but camping. When I was working I loved speaking to folks like you. Watching your video brought a huge smile to my face as I don't get down there as much as I'd like to these days. Thank you for bringing a smile to my face😀

Thanks, Wanderer. I wasn't aware that it was the Knifes Edge until I was there. Another hiker had told me about the Old Snowy alternate trail several days prior, and I had decided that it was safer than hiking on the snow.
