@PreparedToWanderАй бұрын
I travel with 2 bags; this is my smaller one. I suppose it would work fine for 1-bag travel if you don't need very much. It depends how long you want to travel for, and what you want to bring. Winter clothing? Probably not. Summer clothing? Yes. I have carried shoes and a medium jacket in there, along with all my electronics, and it still carries all that pretty well. Personally, I like to travel with a lot of stuff so I'd consider a 40-liter or larger bag for a Euro trip.

Hi mate, I have started doing extensive research into the Garmin smart watches as the Epix Gen 2 Pro Sapphire really appealed to me also. I recommend that you take a look on the Garmin user forum. They are pushing "Beta" software updates that are inferior and cause issues in reliability to the Original product that was sold to consumers. If I was you relying on highly accurate and detailed GPS co-ordinates while hiking through South America, I have already been put off from purchasing this watch after your experiences with it.

I toyed around with the idea of a 'travel' vest with many pockets. Yeah, will look like a photographer, but then no man-bag. However, the vest idea falls down in stinky hot summers - it's another layer you don't want. Plus, if you have to change for whatever reason, you gotta empty out all the pockets.
@PreparedToWander2 ай бұрын
@@veredictum4503 vests are good for layering. But it depends on what style you are going for. For me, I think it’s much easier to find a simple bag that will match all my outfits and always keep my pockets empty. If you are against the idea of a sling bag, then maybe consider a small backpack.

Ok, so the compass reading on the watch has been buggy. But what about recorded GPS tracks? Were those accurate, or buggy too? Geo-location via GPS does not rely on compass. So for the first aid look at getting a mini medication mod from My Medic that would be good in a pinch for travel to have a good array of commonly used medications with you and its small. That and a travel tube of Tylenol or Ibuprofen , because headaches/bodyaches suck. For trauma stuff the swat T works, a snakstaff systems EDC tourniquet would definitely fit in your kit and would be more in line with a CAT in terms of design, that and throw in a mini compression bandage. As far as survival items, a Sawyer mini can easily attach to a standard water bottle. That or look at Cana provisions for their decon kit for water purification. a mini bivy would be good to throw in there as a shelter in a pinch compounded with a mylar blanket. As far as fire you may be able to do a bic lighter, but a farrow rod along with that knife would work too.

I use mesh side pockets to pack gloves one side and hat the other for speedy access. This bag would mostly be used as a day pack, cinched down. But I guess tightened bottom compression straps would make the mesh pockets more difficult to use?
@PreparedToWander2 ай бұрын
I had bottom compression straps on my previous bag, and would sometimes hold my rolled-up jacket down there. But then the jacket would get dirty whenever you set the bag down on the ground. I would still prefer bottom compression straps on a larger outdoor bag, but not necessary for a backpack like this.
@SamuelSaysDoIT2 ай бұрын
@@PreparedToWander Ah, well I meant to say: I presume if you cinch the lower compression straps on your Nebula that the mesh pockets are obstructed. How critical is this?
