Sick build! Do both rear wheels move or is it a one wheel drive?

I built this a long time ago but the best advice I can give is to get electric metal tubing and weld together a frame. Before this you need a plan as to how big you want your vehicle to be. I say sketch it out on paper. I built a frame and added everything accordingly like steering system, seats, motor, etc…

Looks like it came off a small push mower, due to it being a vertical shaft design. Nice restoration. That must be a newer Briggs engine because of the plastic(?) carb and looks like a nylon camshaft?

Hey, as I made this GoKart a while back I don’t remember exactly where I got every nut and bolt from. However, most of the parts came from a mixture of Amazon and eBay. Parts can always be retrofitted and make sure to read the description before buying something from eBay as it can be misleading.

I got a Wolf Gang Puck pepper grinder as a gift for Christmas and the thing turns on but doesn't turn off. I have to remove the batteries to stop from grinding pepper. Should I A. spend a few hours watching videos on pepper grinder repairs then bust out a lighter to dislodge the components and attempt to fix it? B. toss it in the trash and use the manual pepper grinder? C. order a new one?
@Engineering_Rebel
@Engineering_Rebel Жыл бұрын
Hello, after reading your comment I’m going to assume that it’s a broken switch. In that case it’s not worth repairing as these salt grinders regardless of brand always have issues. Ours still works to this day after repairs but I honestly would stick with a manual salt grinder instead. Ordering a new one isn’t a bad idea but it will most probably break again. Kitchen appliances, such as electric salt grinders in my opinion are not worth it. This video is just showing how to repair it if it breaks but often times if the repair is too big, it’s not worth it.

Hey, could you please share what the 2 strap thingies you used to mount the rack and pinion are called? I see pipestraps or u strap clamps.. are those strong enough?
@Engineering_Rebel
@Engineering_Rebel Жыл бұрын
Those 2 brackets are more than strong enough to hold the rack especially because they’re not made of plastic. I drove the vehicle extensively and there was no slop in the steering. Those U shaped brackets can be found at a Home Depot or ACE hardware store.

Love the video man, but could you explain to me how the steering works, from above the rack and pinion, I’m looking to build a vehicle too and wanted to see how the steering worked in yours!
@Engineering_Rebel
@Engineering_Rebel Жыл бұрын
Thank you for asking! As you turn the steering wheel it pulls the rods on either end due to the gear inside pulling on the rack with teeth. This is why they call it rack and pinion steering. On the end of the steering rod you have a sprocket and as it turns it pulls the rack inside the assembly left or right. This right or left motion causes the rods on either end to pull the wheel inward or outward which causes the wheel to turn at an angle.
