What is confusing is -- why does the monophasic waveform of a diseased peripheral artery (ie. unidirectional flow through the cardiac cycle) at 1:44 look so similar to the low resistance waveform shown on the next slide at 1:52? In the former situation, loss of reversal of flow means you are going to a high resistance state (a stenosed artery that loses its elasticity), but in the latter situation it signifies a low resistance downstream organ (ie blood can come and go freely). Is there a way to distinguish one from the other? Meaning, if imaging findings aren't clearly suggestive, how do you know if a waveform's loss of reversal of flow is due to increased arterial disease or a low resistance downstream organ?

This presentation should be shared as much as possible. Lots of great data. I don’t agree with solely relying on AI (@16:56- this may be the most critical component, in my opinion); however, I do think that every imaging case should be scanned in and classified, with updated data when available, and shared in a public database where the span of medical professionals can use them for reference. This is being done with dermatology; it will eventually change medicine. Thank you, @vRad Radiology Education, for sharing your knowledge and findings, as well as for devoting yourself heroically to saving lives! 👏👏👏 Keep up the amazing work you and every other person who has dedicated their entire life to contribute to alleviate mankind’s suffering. 🫶🤗🙏Thank you.

Large ulcer yes. Small flat may not be detected depending on the protocol . So better to recommend endoscopy if suspected.
