Bushings must be placed where the additional space is created so the shock and spring cannot move side to side, you can buy the appropriate bushings pretty much at any auto supply store. You should also place washers on the shock bolt and nuts on the outside of the frame. Also it is imperative to make sure the wiring harness will not contact the shock, it will eventually wear through and be a nightmare to repair. Also make sure the bolts securing the fender are not too long so they hit the tire when the bike is under full rear suspension compression, otherwise you risk ruining your rear tire. This is a time saver and money saver as buying a block requires more work and spring removal, but taking short cuts will cost you in the long run.

stupid way to lower ur bike spend the $40 and buy the lowering block on ebay... lowering it the way the video shows will bend the shock. theres nothing to stop the shock from slideing frome side to side on the top bolt. if ur going to lower it this way. cut some pieces of pipe to slip over the bolt to keep the shock centered. the top plate on the spring hits the frame where the shock use to bolt to... it also rubs the wiring harness so zip tie it back out of the way if possible but very difficult, and its where two of the thickest parts of the wiring harness meet. it is so stiff and not much room. I bought my bike of someone who lowered it this way. didnt know till i started workng on the bike. had to replace the shock cause it slid over on the top bolt and bent the actual shock. I also had to fix where it wore through the wiring harness. just buy the lowering kit off ebay

Can you install the lowering block yourself or need a professional?

I'm just thinking about that. Do you feel some kind of difference in riding? What about passenger, still you can ride two person or fender is too low for that? Thanks

carl220582 I ride solo so I couldn't say for sure but there is still plenty of clearance under the rear fender for my self (200#s) and I ride with my unistrut on 1. maybe if you tight the strut you could ride with a passenger.

Eric Toth I'm glad it helped. That was my reason for making the video just because there were no videos to reference.

Eric Toth I was to but I figured if it didn't work I could always put it back to stock bolt placement
