Running a bigger engine would or could make things cheaper for alot of guys which is properly the point in all of this. If you could make a big V8 lets say that makes the power to be competitive at lower revs and it can run pump gas. hey win-win Just up the displacement limit to like 7l or 7.5l? dont think you need to do more then that.

@@p0intdk look u are right, the guys with coin will still spend up big, but, for you would have to think some more options will present that can get good power for 30 grand, not 100 grand plus that top teams are spending now on a motor

Great video man! I agree with the engine changes, it actually could work out to be more cost effective for budget racers. In speedway racing they are starting to run the ct525 engine which is based off the LS3 as a cost effective alternative. Better longevity and they can be run on 98 fuel.

A fuel bladder and a seat, thats it? Doesnt sound like that big a deal? Regardless of that good luck with the build and the car Ran. Not in Aus. But I am very well acquainted with trying to ring out a SB V8 if you wanna make the power you need the right heads which is big money then rocker arms which can be as much as the heads then vales, spring yada yada. You can only do so much with a 23 deg chevy e.g

Fia bladder tank, cant buy one that will fit off the shelf, so needs to be custom made, not cheap, Fia seat, hard to fit in space i have and many cars cant fit one at all. The R5P7 i have will make over 850hp, so no issues with that, it was built in USA by Elliott enterprises originally

yeah box rooted, have holinger in it now. Box was semi fancy but not up to the job

Don't worry about anyone else mate, you're out there doing it, which is more than 99% of people. Get better and keep chipping away at it and it'll all come together in time.

Best episode to date Ran. Great insight into what it takes to get acclimatised to a top flight Sports Sedan and loved the honesty. (it is always great to see Gaz working on Sports Sedans too.)

Ah thankyou. Some of the most rewarding feedback I’ve had is I’ll talk about things that many don’t. I can’t teach much about being fast. Haha. But I think if I can help others be ok with the struggles of this race addiction and to just keep at it, that’s pretty ace. Gaz is a bloody legend.

I like how respectful you are to these cars. You don’t take them out and try to break records, you feel it out and let it come to you. Definitely understand how you were feeling at the end, happened to me a couple of times this year, had to pull in and get out of the car, helmet and suit cause I was having an attack.

Thanks mate. Ah they are brutal cars and while I’d love to hop in n be a gun from lap 1 reality is I need to work up on it. Hope you were ok. It’s a pretty horrible when it gets overwhelming in the car. I’ll need to sit in this one some more with helmet on. Strapped in it. In the garage. As funny as that sounds I found it helped initially when I briefly did sprintcars as they are very confined.

its not, its a 6 speed Tremec 022-2 race box, i tried to find more info from Mal Wood, but they are reluctant to give me any
