Mr Ian Hunter. Great British songwriter of his era. Up their with the best: Lennon/McCartney, Ray Davies, Jagger/Richards, David Bowie, Marc Bolan, Page/Plant, Pete Townshend. Absolute legend. Sadly so underrated but inspiration to many.

I had tickets for the Mott '74 tour a couple years ago, and then Hunter had to cancel due to his tinnitus. Absolute legend.

Mott the Hopple were in the process of breaking up due to lack of success when Bowie gave them All the Young Dudes. He first tried to give them Suffragette City which they rejected.

That sucks, but it's not because of Ian Hunter himself. The sound is too thin. Horrible.

Ian Hunter always wrote amazing lyrics, honest and brutal truth about life's ups and downs. I know it's out of print now but if you ever come across his book.."Diary of a rock star" from 1971, grab it whatever the cost, incredibly honest account of the early years of Mott.

All us old Dudes continue to carry the news. Listen to “Ships”, “Man Overboard”, “When The World Was Round” or “Something To Believe In” and tell me this man is not a magnificent songwriter!

69 seems like yesterday till I look in the mirror lol. But I still pick up my guitar and the voice never really changes, just a little weaker and lower, but I'll remember good rock and roll till my last breath

I stumbled on this one and his singing captivated me once again....I immediately thought "I know that voice"! Wow...He sure sounds pretty darn good to me yet still.. I'm 62 years old myself here and impressed with how many from our generation are still out there rockin' out & lovin' life! But hate how every time I catch the news another one of our"Greats" has left us. Man.....it's life....we're all getting there.....But damn, if the late '60's- early '70's wasn't the time to LIVE for Music!! I feel so blessed to have been alive when these artists were at their peak, Fantastic. Ian Hunter and Mott the Hoople.....loved them guys along with T-REX and LOVED MARC BOLAN so much, Bowie, Humble Pie Steve Marriott was awesome and so under-rated. So many great bands coming out of the UK....my list could go on & on. All's I know is .....Their music will never die in my home , It's playing 24/7 here. It's 2019 now!!
