I have an idea for the slipper Try on tell your son that he’s helping you create the slippers and this is one of the steps in creating. The slippers is trying them on when they’re damp so they’ll fit it to him and he’ll understand.❤

Beautiful vest! You might be able to tighten up the collar with a crochet hook and the silk-mohair. Also, I like when you talk about sewing. (Those little triangles used to shape the bodice are called darts!)

Thank you 😊 That's a good idea to use a crochet hook to tighten up the collar, I might try that first (and I might have a bit more determination to do it soon then, because I really procrastinated redoing this collar!). And thanks for the words, I'm still learning the sewing vocabulary 🙂

I find the vest very beautiful❤. If you don't like the idea to separate the strands of unspun, I recommend you Plotulopi or Nutiden which come single stranded and then you can pair it with silk mohair. I also recommend you the Jeny's surprisingly stretchy bind-off for binding off at the cuff. Let us know of it worked for you.😊
@petitvelo
@petitvelo 2 ай бұрын
Thank you ☺ I actually have a plate (but only one) of Plotulopi and it seems a bit prickly compared to Manchelopi, but maybe it softens once wearing it? I might try Jeny's surprisingly stretchy bind-off instead of grafting, thanks for the recommendation! 😊

@@petitvelo I guess that Plotulopi is the most prickly of them all....and I haven't heard that it softens after watching or wearing 🤷‍♀️. I had once a Pullover in my hands which was made with islandic yarn and the mohair from ito sensai and it felt really soft. I also have one plate of plotulopi and I made a sample but I didn't like it so much honestly even if I am not so sensitive...But I guess with the right mohair it kann feel much better. We have to try😉

Hi! I am happy to see you wearing your Miles Shirt Jacket! I am using for mine the unspun from Hillesvag and one strand of drops kid silk mohair and I am gettig a very nice thick and warm fabric with it. The mohair should help to prevent the felting and give more strength to the garment. I guess this will be my go to with unspun from now on. I loooooved your mohair Shawl. It looks amazing! What a beautiful piece and great idea!. Your mom will love it for sure. Lovely greetings from Germany.

Your Miles Shirt Jacket should be even nicer with a strand of silk mohair especially since the gauge is quite loose! I've been wanting to try the unspun from Hillesvag for a bit of time, I think that's going to be the next one I try. Thank you for the shawl 😊 I just finished it and I can"t wait to give it to my mum!

@petitvelo
@petitvelo 6 ай бұрын
It's so nice to know that it inspires you! 😊 I used 3 balls plus a tiny bit of the fourth to sew the second pocket. But I knit the cardigan a bit smaller than recommended in the pattern, so I would have used something closer to four balls if I had knit it to the right length.

Your cable sweater is beautiful - love the gorgeous plump cables. I do the same thing when knitting cables or lace - I use a lot of stitch markers to keep track - also helpful to catch errors. I love Woolyknit yarn and I agree it can be a bit heavy when held double. For this garment, I may try it single and holding with an airy lightweight yarn or even their merino for a lighter sweater.

Hello Melinda, Thank you so much, I'm so glad you like it and that this video was useful! ♥ I used exactly 3 plates (so 300g) plus the beginning of the 4th to do the ribbing and the bind off of the second pocket. I weighted the 4th plate to see how much I used but it's still 105 grams 😅 but I think it was maximum 2 grams from that last plate. The plate are about 230m when yarn held double. Also, keep in mind that I shortened mine of about 3cm, so that used less yarn. What is the yarn that you are planning to use?

I cast on the cuff in a smaller needle and then I knit the rest of the sock in the needle the yarn calls for. So maybe I cast on with a 2.25 and then knit the rest of the sock with a 2.75. It helps with making the cuff not stretch out too much.
