I’m glad I watched this because I was considering getting a used one of these hybrid version to do ride share but because of what you said about the lack of legroom and headroom in the back, I think I’ll now reconsider

Super cool car, happy for you, but I've never understood the idea of paying more for a "special edition" of a car if you're gonna throw anything beyond visual mods on it anyways. You could've gotten a base model and had more money to throw at upgrades and not have to worry about "removing" an actual Circuit edition model from existence basically. The GR Corolla is super intriguing to me, especially with a kid now, but I love my S13's character from the build too much to get something new.

I really wanted the carbon roof and then the flame blue in person just is amazing. The core is defiantly a huge savings but you also don’t get a lot of cool features that the premium and circuit offer. I think I’m going to keep this car so didn’t mind paying the extra money 👍

@@artysgarage That's one point where you've definitely got me. It makes some sense with the added premium features at least. A buddy of mine got a Hakone Edition 86, which to my knowledge was some body kit pieces and the British Racing Green paint with the Bronze rim combo. He got new white wheels within a couple months, it still looks great, but I thought it was odd he'd spend several thousand more for a version of the car to basically undo what made it unique. Coming from the world of 240sx, they've all been modified to some extent. I've got an appreciation for nice clean newer cars that I use to just hate as "useless car payments" but at least Toyota has delivered on offering some exciting options

@BoostFiend_Bud yes I was super excited that Toyota brought the GR to Life and America finally got something real fun and cool looking. Putting in wheels on a special edition car is no form of depreciation because it takes 15 minutes to take them off and put your stock ones on. If your friend took the car and then repainted it or took the body kit off and put on another aftermarket one then I see what you mean by buying a special car and changing it all up.

@@artysgarage He doesn't even care about the color, he could've bought any other color and saved over $5k was more my point with my buddy. He'd be happier if it was blue with the white wheels, and he could've done that and still saved $2k from the Hakone edition after buying his $3k wheels. The salesmen just suckered him in with it being a special edition, and he'd have been just as happy with a loaded trim in any color lol

I have both E36 (US Spec) and E46 (Awesome) ZCP Competition. I like both, but I drive the E36 the most. In fact, I love the E36 so much I also bought a 2nd E36 (techno violet) coupe. Great reliability, awesome performance and easy to maintain.

Look Honda has been turbo charging engines for decades now. I trust Honda when it comes to K-series and turbo's. I don't trust Toyota with Turbo engines, yet. There are GR Corolla's catching fire, so maybe not ready to throw $50k on a new Toyota engine. Also the fact that over 100,000 Tundra's were recalled due to major engine issue due to manufacturing QA, I will pass on Toyota's new engine design at this time.

Yea I have to Agree with you the K series engine is proven to be reliable and you can tune it with almost no issues. The new Thundras and Tacomas are definitely not what they use to be. I bought my 2023 Tacoma Trd pro because that engine was not the most powerful but it was known to be reliable. I also agree 47k for a GR Corolla is expensive but at the end of the day it is a special car and soon we will miss the Type R and the GR once everything goes hybrid or electric ⚡️

The 3cyl engine has already been proven , with ten of thouands of GRY on the road before the GRC was released, the engine is in their Rally2 car and they have a modified hydrogen version for their endurance racing. People have pushed 500+hp already but youre too focused on one that caught on fire cause it was hit by a semi and the other that had a previous accident and the owner was possibly running tunes without the supporting mods

I have a 2018 Hybrid and both the rear doors have top padding that constantly squeaks and creaks at even the slightest movement or road imperfection and it's driving me insane. My '01 Oldsmobile Aurora had less squeaks and rattles... I bought my MKZ last December with 26,000 miles and it already sounded like that but it couldn't have when it was brand new. Do they develop this noise when they get older? Seems to be louder when it's hot out and there's also a rattle somewhere in the left rear door. Anyone else have this issue with the top of the door panels creaking nad squeaking?
