Claiming humans are the leading factor to the current global warming is not true. We are a part of the problem, but not the main cause of it. We are at the ass end of the previous iceage. and we started to mesure the global temperature at its lowest point just as the iceage started to end. So earth where already getting warmer, and would still had done so even if humanity never had existed. Have we speed it up? yes. but we are not the main problem as every single treehugger, nazi greta fanatic (Greta have ties to nazi germany, and even use their symbolic. look it up. + she's not a kid she's a legal adult whit werry wealthy parents, stop pretending she's 13.), soup trowing, road gluing muppet claims

Without humans I could see the Sauropsids (birds, reptiles) becoming dominant again after a great extinction (asteroid) kills the mammals/ synapsids. But humans are too intelligent. They will deflect any asteroid & eventually learn to control the weather, so earth’s mammals will live in comparable paradise (no extinction).

I'd Argue that it's best to call the Mesozoic the age of Reptiles. Dinosaurs only ruled the land from the Jurassic to Cretaceous period. Archosaurs/Archosauromorphs ruled the land and sky during most of the Mesozoic but never the seas, which was the realm of Sauropterygians and Lepidosaurs (although there was a brief stint with Thallatosuchians).
@posticusmaximus17398 ай бұрын
It's interesting how much convergent evolution there was after the Kpg extinction, almost like Synapsida was picking up where it left off: sabertooth apex predators, knobby, thick headed herbivores. I felt like Unitherium and later odd-toed ungulates was picking up where Estemmenosuchus left off. I know the Mesozoic was really important for mammal evolution, but at a glance it's was just a long interlude before our tribe took over once again.

@vyhozshu "theyre not modern mammals. theyre proto-mammal (often retaining reptilian features from the split from reptiles) that include things that wouldnt become mammals, dead ends, similar how dinosaurs were proto-avian to modern birds. you don't say we call dinosaurs birds?" 1. modern mammals (and all extinct mammals) are synapsids 2. proto- or stem-mammals are synapsids 3. synapsids (which covers all stem-mammals and mammals) didn't evolve from or split from reptiles, that's obsolete knowledge 4. birds are dinosaurs, the terms are avian dinosaurs (birds) and non-avian dinosaurs (all other dinosaurs) ------------- I'm a zoologist, your understanding of these things is very muddled, I'm happy to help.

When did theh make the transition from having reptile like skin to having fur? I find that so confusing, same with milk. How does a mutation or slow evolution happen to that level?
@robokill387 Жыл бұрын
Milk evolved from modified sweat glands. Even modern day platypuses still sweat milk through pores on their belly rather than having nipples. The precise time when fur evolved is unknown due to a lack of fossil evidence of hair, but it's been shown through embryological studies that hair is highly modified scales. Hair probably evolved as a sensory organ first, like modern whiskers, several cynodont skulls have small holes at the front that look very much like the holes in modern mammal skulls that carry blood vessels and nerves that supply whiskers.
@TheGreatGnathomortis-xc4vu3 ай бұрын
Considering synapsids like Estemmenosuchus were found to have glandular hippo-like skin, its possible that synapsids never had scales to begin with or scales were only present in non-therapsids (Varanopids had scales, but are not believed to be synapsids anymore)

Mammals the descendants of the synapsids, your relatives and mine, despite all their and our suffering, never ruled the earth. The rulers then and now are prokaryotes. You have more of them in your body then what you might call your human cells (another misnomer)
@Dr.IanPlect Жыл бұрын
What's the misnomer and why?
@thomasschwarz1973 Жыл бұрын
@@Dr.IanPlect thank you for asking. The word "cell" is misleading; we get the image of a building block or our body. But to the contrary, as we look closer, it appears to not only have its own controlling systems but things are actually mobile inside it, not controlled by our brain, and on smaller and smaller scales, it, the "single cell", could have infinite complexity. It's like saying "single human" being or "multi -human" being. Fine to use the word cell like that too, so long as we can do the same for human or planet....

I really enjoyed this documentary. Nonetheless, I do believe there is a misconception on who still rules the world. Until recently we were used to the idea the Dinosaurs ruled for around 160 M years and then went extinct. With the new knowledge that birds are dinosaurs, however, that changed. There are 6000 birds compared to 4000 species of mammals so you see, synapsids only ruled the pre-dinosaur Era and dinosaurs still dominate the environment in numbers and adaptability as well as variety. Mammals grew big and occupied the vacant niches becoming apex predators, but they are still outnumbered by birds. This is just a thought though.
