@melen_tran14 күн бұрын
I usually always have my camera on for meetings unless it’s a company wide meeting. I just find it more respectful to the person presenting/speaking

You're kidding right. How in this world someone is going to become UX/UI designer in just two months. No doubt you're very convincing talking about basic concepts. But you need more than that to become a decent designer in the field.

Hey Hi. Phenomenal Video! I am doing a program in Durham college Oshawa it’s called interactive media design and they are teaching me photoshop, illustrator, premier pro, figma, html, css, javascript and in the next semester i might also have motion graphics. It’s of 4 semesters. Do you think I could get a job after this program, and if what job can i get?

These videos "a day in the life" are 90% about personal vlogging and very little about ux or ui design.

its very difficult to find a uxui designer job in mtl. if u have zero exp. and nothing in your porfolio you will not find a job even with a google certificate

Hi Helen, thank you for all your sharing about the journey. I'm 30yrs old right now and trying to change my career path from Digital Marketing to an UXUI Designer. But I'm not sure if I could have my first dream job at this career. Could you please share more about the challenges to get the job when we're over 30s. Glad to be hearing from you soon =)

@marshelblackmon9843 ай бұрын
Literally, at this point thats my situation. Like you said YOU NEVER KNOW. I also have coding experience. I just finished a Bootcamp in UXUI. Wow what a great video Thank you so much for this insight. It was meant for me to see this. Thank you PS What roadmap did you take for the product design. Thank you

the job market is terrible nowadays :((( does anybody have any advice for people looking for ux design jobs now?
@ThatsJustMyBabyDaddy4 ай бұрын
So with all your education you actually did not become a ux designer in 2 months. Very misleading.
@melen_tran4 ай бұрын
Hi! Just to clarify I had no formal education in UX and UI classes. I did for sure have the coding bootcamp certificate and graphic design cegep degree that could have increase my chances of getting the job. But I did finish my certificate for coding in May and landed the job in July!
@detricegaines18894 ай бұрын
Omg this just happened to me!! lol no joke!! I went to a coding group and was in the process of a coding certification course.. I had to pause!! I’m good with adobe, Figma,Squarespace , Shopify, etc!! So tech savvy with these design softwares!! At heart I’m a designer!! Yessss lol I’m with you!! I wouldn’t be happy coding all day and not using my creativity! I’m back in the UI/UX!! I’ve tried other things also!! I always come back to the world of design!! Must be meant to be!!

You're younger than me (I'm coming to my design realisations a bit late, heh) -- but your feelings and interests are very similar to mine! The whole being good at math, but also needing to be creative -- it's so strange that as a society people often assume that those two things aren't compatible.

What do you think of the product design program at Université Laval in Quebec city? Do you think it's a good start if I'm finishing cegep? Thanks!
@melen_tran4 ай бұрын
I quickly looked at the program and it seems like it’s tangible product design! What i do is product designs for web and apps (ux/ui design) so I never work on tangible designs but if that is something you’re interested, go for it!

hi helen, are the estimates on the youtube studio close to what you actually earn, how much do you make per view? :) i.e the 36 dollars you earned in the first month, how much did you earn after tax or at all besides the estimate

Phenomenal! Very detailed and no bullshit describing your your path. What did your first 30-90 days looks like on the job since this was all new ? You were using a concept project to gain your experience versus using an actual company’s project .

My first 30-90 basically learned the ways of working. The processes on how people at my job designed and then slowly transitioning to actual company project
