Great explanation. A troubleshooting guide video for common mistakes would make the life much easier :)

Hello, I'll make use of the spider-8 (yes, the 8! The real old one - The fact is: despite being an old version, it is quite reliable.) for a research in my University and i´m having a hard time to make the link between the load cells and the 15-pin plugs. I will be very grateful for any help.
Hello, is there any tutorial video about Testlab Simcenter for EMA?

Nice presentation. Did you use roving sensor method for acquiring the FRFs of the round about 40 measurement points? It seems like more than one excitation point (z12 and z29) was used, right?
@newproton3 жыл бұрын
You install 1 sensor but showing so much shapes. I think its quite cheating

It wasn't mentioned how all of these points have been measured. Right, had the same thoughts. But I would not call it cheating - plot hole sounds friendlier 🙂

so im building an incline system for a treadmill do i need to have the system built to be able to get accurate results or i can just do the test on the beam which will handle the stress?

hey,can you make a tutorial on how to do impact hammer test with Dbfa software suite?
@CrystalInstrumentsUS6 жыл бұрын
Can you tell us more about the Dbfa software that you were referring to? We recommend using our Modal Package since it is a single solution that is very easy to perform for modal testing.

Anastassia - nice video and well presented. I like the path CI is going in presenting the capabilities and "subtleties" of working around the EDM software. I think this and the other videos are well worth the effort. Jim P

If we put sensors near the nodes of modal shape(vector equals zero), will we get bad results?
@CrystalInstrumentsUS6 жыл бұрын
Todor. When taking a response signal from the node (or near the node), you may not get any substantial response at all for some obvious reasons. Your data may not be necessary bad, but it won't be too meaningful for modal purpose. It is recommended to place the sensor away from the node.
@LearnSVcom6 жыл бұрын
Hi Todor. I suspect Walter will cover this in the future parts but here is a quick/dirty answer. How bad your results will be depends on what you are going to do with the data. If you put the excitation or response sensor on a node, the resulting frequency response function (FRF) will be missing the peak corresponding to the mode for that node. So, if your structure has 5 modes in the frequency range of interest, you should see 5 peaks. But since you are on a node, you will only see 4 peaks. In the parameter estimation phase, if you choose to use only that single FRF to identify the number or location (frequency) of the modes, you will obviously get it wrong. But if you use that FRF along with other FRF's (assuming the others are not on nodes) to identify the modes (e.g. Mode Indicator Function or MIF), you should be able to find all 5 modes. The next phase of modal analysis would be to get the vectors or mode shape. In simple terms, you are trying to get the relative magnitude and phases between each DOF. The FRF for that node will then result is some probably erroneous phase but the magnitude will be very small. So, the mode shape will be right (since your supposed to get very small magnitude near a node). If you need more help, feel free to contact me. Not sure what identity shows up on KZbin but my name is Evro Wee Sit. I can be contacted at eweesit at LearnSV dot com. Or you could contact the folks at Crystal Instruments. They are a smart and nice group of people.
