@MstrirSage Thanks for the link, but it does little to answer my curiosity. If you are willing to indulge me, we both accept many of the moral teachings attributed to Jesus to some extent. Turn the other cheek, the golden rule, I am sure we all agree these are great concepts in many situations but potentially dangerous in others. What I am curious to know is, what distinguishes a Christian atheist from a secular humanist who would inevitably hold many values often attributed to Christ?

Er, never mind. I misread your description for this video. I incorrectly assumed you were of a position you do not hold. Still, thank you for informing me of a concept I did not know existed.

This is the first I have heard of Christian atheism. It is interesting. There are many things attributed to Jesus that almost everyone can agree are good, but you clearly recognize your own evaluations as the source of what you see as good. You do not believe in a god, you build your own morality, why still use the word Christian to label your beliefs? Is it retain a cultural identity in the same way Jewish atheists do, or recognize biblical teachings as an inspiration for your moral code?
