This video is false, I run multiple of the same cheap capture card on the same Root hubs. You will either run into a power or band width limitation especially on cheaper motherboards, having the same cheap capture card with the same name isn't the issue.

If I have a USB hub, connected to a laptop, could I plug in multiple HDMI capture devices as long as they were all different? Would that allow Windows to recognize them as separate devices and therefore let OBS see them all

Camrename is an app made for OBS, bandwidth per USB bus is an issue. I can run 3 at FHD 25. If I go 50 it stops working.

i just buy one , was thinking the same thing buy 4 or 5 so i can make multicam streem setup on the cheap , one solution will also hdmi switch , just need to find one withaout delay , or get multiple usb to pci e card and plug capture cads in thows ,

There are other capture cards similar to that one, so it means if it’s from different brand but similar to that, it will still work? Not sure how many root hubs does a Mac Mini M1 have. Thinking to sell my switcher and go that route as I need the HDMI source to be individual per camera.

I' m used three that kind of "card"/ camera with normal usb-hub and it runs ok. Every "stick" is with different name in OBS or even in Microsoft-Teams. Problem is that card and hub try to over heat.

hello, yes nice product for the money it costs does its decent job ,,, bought a week ago, nice but I'm not fully satisfied. if you put a cam or reflex that exceeds two kg while having a good head, everything goes jerkily (I have solved by reducing the speed a lot and then accelerating in post production) if you then install it on a tripod at the end of the stroke the slider flexes (it is from 80cm, tripod in the middle then at -40 or +40 flexes) ...... among all the cables supplied to synchronize various brands of cams for time lapse there is not one that it goes well with latest generation products including gopro hero 7-8 and 9, ............. but the icing is that after having lost 10 minutes to assemble the belt and motor you cannot put it away in the assembly bag because the accommodations were created for disassembled pieces; unusable bag. (there is no fact that I have to mount it and remount it every output) ,,,,, battery does not last very long especially if you do time lapses that last 40.45 min, but luckily I have a higher capacity .. remote control once you understand I don't it's bad ,, .... to optimize the times I learned that once placed for the scene and with the engine off, to simulate the whole screen manually by ad hoc adjusting the central bar that makes the cam tilt ... by now I have bought it but I am not fully satisfied, but as I repeat, given the cost, you cannot expect more
