How did you prepare for Gamsat ?

Hi, I got one to one tutoring (MedicMind), I also signed up for a course that helped me with each section (GradMed) and I joined a study group for accountability. Giving myself around 3 months to fully prepare was the best approach for me. For section 1: I practised reading extensively - reading books, articles, newspapers, poems and literature to help with speed, understanding and interpretation. For section 2: I practised writing essays using ‘gamsat quote generators’ and having them marked/read by friends and family. I started by writing one essay a week, to every other day, to everyday when it got closer to the exam. I say it is worth getting some marked professionally just so you have feedback and know if you’re on the right track. ‘Acegamsat’s Essay Bible’ really helped me in structuring my essays’- I highly recommend it for at least Essay A. Essay B are meant to be a lot more creative/personal writing, so they don’t necessarily follow one particular rule. Acer allows you to submit essays for marking on their website for a fee, so I also used that to also get an idea of my score. For section 3: This is where my one to one tutoring and course really helped. Although I have a Science background, I found this part most difficult. My maths skills needed to be worked on, so improved this a lot. I did a lot of practise questions, GCSE/Alevel Chemistry/Biology/Physics - Acer has some questions on their website, but in my experience their questions do not reflect the real exam much. So do a lot of digging to find different past questions online or courses that have been curated to be like the actual exam.
