3:22 originally you could backtrack back to the beach on spawn. But there's nothing back there, you're supposed to go forward. Too many people were backtracking and sabotaging themselves that way, so the Devs blocked off the path back to the beach in an early update.

Cool to know! I'm gonna find my way back there eventually. I would have put in a cavern with cliffs to funnel players. And had some aggressive Pals in the water behind ya for a few game days. Then stuck lore in as to them swarming around shipwrecks or something.

@AiosStarfire sure. And don't get me wrong, you always spawned in the castle ruins. But that rubble looking wall next to that first chest you grabbed in the ruins? That wall didn't used to be there. On the other side there's still the staircase connecting the areas, but they added that wall in between them. From there, there's a clear path all the way down to the beach from the cutscene. As lore goes, the tree mentioned in the opening cutscene has always been visible, but you can't get there. Nothing in this early access version leads to it or says anything more about it at all aside from a couple throw away lines from NPCs like "I wonder what's up with that big tree?" So what the opening says should be the end of the game literally doesn't exist yet.

There are a bunch of settings in the options to check out for a smoother game experience.

The bugs are a feature! heheh.. I'm just waiting for an upside-down horse like in Skyrim. I'll love every minute of it. ^^

The Petroglyph ending is hilarious to watch. I think you were just about spot on for the story. Corrupted people corrupt the town and others, and things fall apart as they disappear one by one. Everyone black mailing each other while Max is free to capture the townsfolk and perform his plans. Shivers I and II were some of my favorite games playing growing up, and I had an awesome time watching you play and go through the adventure.

That art is pretty sick! Sometimes Sierra games need a walk through every now and again to help Map things out. I can't wait to see what else you learn about Cyclone.

I still try to avoid the walkthrough. At the end of it, I still have some unanswered questions about Cyclone.. but I'll mention that in a later video.

I didn't know how intricate the lore was in this game. I have always been more puzzle focused, but going along with every book and detail and learning how this town was full of some shady characters has really been enjoyable for a game I played when I was younger.

The lore is a lot more layered than I thought. It took me notebook pages to piece it together, and am still thinking about it days later. I'm really glad I got a chance to play this all the way through. And with an exception, I really liked the puzzles. Do you have a favourite puzzle from the game?

Why do you click so fast
@AiosStarfire
@AiosStarfire Ай бұрын
Sorry about that. I was hoping zip mode would kick-in, but I often clicked over the lightning bolt so there was a lot of screens in between destinations. If I find a game like this- with individual screens - I'll be sure to slow down. Also, a bit excited. Riven is one of my all time favorites.

Thanks for giving it a watch. The games always had a special charm when FMV was added. Though I'd say that Rand and Robyn Miller really made Myst and Riven something special.

@@AiosStarfire It also really helps that the live action, from acting and writing to props to lighting and composition with the game environment, was executed with the level of skill and care necessary to come across as believable

Thanks for making it! I love the world and the characters. Trying to add comments when they’re already making the same ones is a challenge, and I love that the characters have a similar view to my own. Playing on my own, I loved the kiosk as well. (Especially the part we haven’t or can’t see yet^^) World building information makes my day in games. And any comments related to Crispin are purely for entertainment’s sake - he’s got the little brother vibes; sometimes the brunt of jokes but never actually disliked. -no spoilers- but glad there’s a Crispin V.2.

@@AiosStarfire You're welcome although of course it was a team effort :) Yeah I found a similar difficulty doing the commentary honestly - there's really almost *too much* to talk about so I think it's best to just let the work speak for itself... It really helps having KZbinrs such as yourself do the hard work on the "back end" there though :D

What an awesome trip down memory lane. Never noticed the detail about 4 teenagers being mentioned, great catch! Thankfully Shivers II doesn't have the Chinese marble solitaire puzzle. It does have a few other cruel ones however.

Hope you had fun along the way. I wish they had done more with the Shivers universe. An adventure around the escaped Ixupi or something. Shivers 2 I've never played all the way through (little less than half way). It's down the list, but I will get to it eventually. ^^
