I remember seeing it on Top Of The Pops as a kid, even in black and white it was a mindblowing video. But, and this is absolutely no slur on what is one of my favourite rock bands, Awaken from Yes' 1977 album Going For The One has the edge I think, the first and probably the only time a real church organ is used on a rock belter. Hope you are well, Miss Ruthie!!

This style really suits you - I can imagine you playing this in the middle of a busy railroad station with the echoing station announcements and folks sipping their coffee in the cafe a few metres away! I've heard lots about BM's brother Wynton Marsalis, he is also an organist as well as saxer and trumpeter so he's a very versatile musician!

Elton John is not one of those artists I've taken seriously - that is until a few weeks ago when Radio Caroline did a 'Spirit Of The 70s' weekend and lots of Elton and Bernie's lesser known album tracks were featured, such as Meal Ticket, Out Of The Blue and Funeral For A Friend. I had the wonderful Bennie and the Jets on my classic rock playlists but now I have seven more Elton songs to join it!!! His duet with Kiki Dee always reminds me of the long hot summer of 1976 when it was in the 30s every day (around 90 plus in Fahrenheit) every day for 2 weeks - and it got to no1!!! www.woodleynet.co.uk/caroline/podcasts.htm?fbclid=IwY2xjawEtSWVleHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHZDK3MmN1eWRxj5zi1am7_6UpgtirboVZ88USlXT9ZLzLCyfA1pA_Qt9TA_aem_Gjb3V8NEa-DkuQsOPW0HBg#70s Hope you are well Ruthie and many thanks for sharing your lovely talent with us. One of my very favorite pieces. It's nice to hear it at a slower speed. It's beautiful. You're getting there. My mother's playing was not technically great, but her personality came out through it. I loved listening to her as a child.
