I enjoyed the beautiful mountains and icicles. The video is the best. Always stay safe.

What's up with the mountain biker's helmet?? In the snow I would be wearing a baklava or at least a beanie and a pandemic mask to cover my ears and nose. I think those would be warmer for the same weight and pack size.

I have climbed all these mountains but in summer time, and I know how hard they are, so what you were doing was truly exceptional. You have my well deserved 'like' and respect. Cannot locate Capanna Ponzi, very puzzling.

Just an average day in Scotland mate, joking aside that looked bloody desperate. Hope things improved for you, look forward to seeing the rest and prey you keep safe and avoid drowning. 😮

😁 I've had a lot of day in Scotland and none like that! The only other day that resembled it was storm desmond in the Lakes except there was no thunder and lightening then.

Hi John, did you have any trouble with snow doing the HRP in October?
@johndavidfleetwood3 ай бұрын
no but I went prepared for it with ice axe and crampons. It was a hot year. There was snow before I started. I was prepared with a plan A, B and C!

The ascent of the slope leading up to it was certainly exciting at times - ballbearing like gravel and slippery grass at quite a steep angle. I had to hang on at times!

Thanks for sharing fellow Brit! Was following you via the FB group post my own little 200 km along the GR10 from a Hendaye to Lescun (which I am doing in stages - work gets in the way!) Happy further expeditions wherever you end up ☺️.

Stunning footage John! You captured the pic d’anie area so beautifully. Amazing rock there. It’s funny because I got really ill just before Gavarnie as well, with similar sounding symptoms (couldn’t sleep, nausea, no appetite, exhausted etc) maybe something in the water!
@johndavidfleetwood2 жыл бұрын
it was definitely the water. I think I know where I picked it up - the shepherds hut after Lescun. I drank the water from an outside tap without treating which was a big mistake.

Wouw, you had very bad weather that week! This strong wind you usually find at higher altitude, on the ridges, but not in the valley. Very interesting the tutorial about when your boots and socks get completely wet and how you had to protect from the wind...inside the Certascan refuge! But you certainly got the reward when arriving to the mediterranian...I enjoyed again watching your video. Thank you!
