You'll need a dentist to take a CBCT xray to see where it is, but usually they get stuck and don't erupt

Hello, Amanda! I’ve 11-12 years old Pt (a girl) who is currently treated with Invisalign and MA. She had huge overjet before the treatment. The result is great so far, the overjet is less and improving, but parents are worried that the child's face is changing. They say she used to have big, beautiful cheekbones, but now they're gone. They also worry that their daughter won't end up with too sharp chin. Any recommendation? Thank You!

Hi - thats weird- invisalign doesn't change the maxilla at all- maxilla is DONE growing at age 6 or 7- so sounds like it's just buccal fat pads (baby fat) and it's normal for faces to slim down during puberty- they need to talk to their pediatrician but you can offer them a CBCT if they are concerned (refer out- get full report from like a 3DDX or Beam readers) - I am assuming if you're doing invis with MA you HAD a ceph though and ceph numbers? if not, I'd get one - I can help you if you need help here- [email protected] - GOOD QUESTION!

After removing bite blocks that was placed in second molar and wasn't attached with braces, tooth has moved in higher position, what should I do, ortho says to leave it like that. I think bite blocks caused me TMJ and my lower jaw is blocked, I have braces to straighten tilted third and second molar because I had extracted first molar when I was a teenage and that caused them to shift, and also the side of tilted teeth from braces caused jaw problems and my ear got blocked. I have overjet and overbite but my ortho dont want to fix it now, in beginning he said that he will. I Don't know what to do, I'll be removing braces after a month. I want to know if TMJ is caused only by bite blocks or also by force to straighten molars. And what should I do for overjet/deep bite

Hello! Thank you for the video. One thing... the title says upper 5s lower 4s, but in the video you say the opposite (at 4:10, 4:46, ). It is my understanding that for camouflage cases (treating a class III non-surgically, which is the topic of this video), a 4 premolar extraction pattern would be upper 5s over lower 4s would be most appropriate.

Removing teeth is the wrong thing to do. You need to create space through surgery if needed, not reduce it. This is needed for breathing.
@Straightsmilesolutions5 күн бұрын
I don't disagree but the research isn't out yet connecting the dots in that way so unfortunately it isn't safe for an orthodontist to say it exactly the way you did but it depends on the circumstances of course.

I did not have a back molar bands or brackets , my braces were removed 2 weeks ago and I didn’t notice until I got my retainers that my upper left back molar is tilted a little bit out of alignment from the other Teeth I’m assuming this is because it didn’t have a bracket or wire connecting it to the rest of the arch Is this gonna be a problem for by bite everything else seems OK I remember asking my orthodontist a while ago why we didn’t have the last Molar brackets and he said he doesn’t normally put those on, but I didn’t realize until now that maybe it could be an issue if it’s an issue? Your thoughts would be helpful after watching this video?

Like I said in the beginning of my message, my braces were removed two weeks ago, so I don’t think I can just have them add a bracket back on I’m in a clear liner retainer And I didn’t notice the back molar issue until I looked at my retainer He never mentioned an issue with that tooth. Is it too late to correct this back molar that’s slightly tilted from not having a bracket on it or do you think it’ll fall into place eventually?

I use these on upper ACS and lower RCS 18x25 NiTi wires, but I had a patient who developed severe root resorption of her upper incisors and I cannot figure out the reason. was it the wires or the elastics or something else? I also when I need anterior elastics on unhooked incisors, I leave the disto-gingival wing of the bracket untied for the elastics.
@Straightsmilesolutions5 күн бұрын
RCS/ACS wires Do flare teeth so I guess you'd have to check the pre-op pano and ceph to know? sometimes this can just happen in braces without any special wires. sorry to hear that but it does happen!! LMK if you ever need help with a case- we help docs 1:1 too

How do you close extraction spaces on Niti wires without losing incisor torque or deepening the bite?
@Straightsmilesolutions8 күн бұрын
well you have to fully level and align first? and fully fill the slot. Bite will always deepen when you close space so that's why you have to FULLY level first (almost overcorrect the curve of spee)- then you bond 7's if needed to help to level after closing spaces and can use RCS wire if needed

I have a profile like 8:26, around 3 years ago I noticed my lower jaw and chin looked recessed. I had an overbite and the orthodontist used Invisalign to push my upper teeth back. That didn’t help my profile at all and since then I’ve noticed breathing issues especially when trying to catch my breath. Do you think it would make sense for my upper teeth to go back to where they originally were and then my lower jaw surgically brought forward? And does it sound like to you the jaws are the main problem not the teeth?

My dental office plans to scan me for retainers whilst still in my attachments then remove them on the day they are delivered. The dental office is not being helpful and ignoring my emails. Wow sorry to hear about that but yes it's ok to get retainers delivered (interim) and then go and find someone to do the bonding at your convenience and leisure. Then you just need a new retainer right after. Hello! I have watched all of your IPE videos, and I am most grateful. My 8-year-old just started this program last week. It was very, very expensive, 2500, which includes all visits, but still a lot. I am preparing for our first follow up appointment, and I was hoping that maybe you could offer me a couple good questions that I could ask to make sure everything is on the right track (pun). Much appreciated.
@Straightsmilesolutions21 күн бұрын
Does your 2500 include braces or invisalign to finish the case? or is that JUST for the IPE only? (Eg- is this PHASE1 Tx? because Phase 1 should include FINISHING in braces or aligners)- that's my only question
@Straightsmilesolutions21 күн бұрын
because the price 2500 is LOW actually for Phase 1. Very low,. So wondering if you're gonna have more fees later. Normal price maybe $4000 and this is just for Phase 1. It's even pretty low for IPE! You've got a DEAL!

and then you'll have Phase 2 later? Another 5-6K.
@Dr.PoeSneeze21 күн бұрын
@@Straightsmilesolutions Okay. This is something that I will prepare for. But I will have to ask about this. I saw that some other IPE videos claimed that the Invisalign didn't correctly move the teeth, and I just wanted to make sure I was correctly understanding the process so that I could make sure everything was proceeding as it should. She has a small face and mouth, so while she is used to the device after having worn it for ten days, it does still hurt her when she eats (sometimes she takes out), as well as gives her a bit of a lisp. We change every other night, so hopefully, she will not be in this for 48 trays.
@Straightsmilesolutions21 күн бұрын
Not sure who made those videos but I attended ALL the IPE training lectures and they did show evidence based research showing it works just as well as a regular expander as long as it's worn full time (including CBCT 3D xrays showing it works)- your doctor should be able to explain this to you- it's not rocket science, But regular expanders are way cheaper and work well too

Based on other sources I'm wondering if it's actually the other way around (Epiphysis is the tiny cap while the diaphysis is the end of the longer bone)?
