Unbelievable how long you kept that barbel out of the water for, very poor care of such a magnificent fish. Prioritising photos over the well being of the barbel is unacceptable and this is a really bad example for all who watch this.. an experienced angler would have weighed and returned that fish in a minute.. not nearly 5 !!

Hi. Been watching a while now, iv had some massive carp on this river but never managed a barbel! The carp do the same when they run- straight through the reeds! I never use barbed hooks so Iv lost a few waiting for them to come out like this😢

Hi, sorry to be a bit off track but in a previous video you had your baits in what looked like quality ziplock bags. Can you tell me where you got the bags from please. See you on the bank and nice to see the videos.
@fishingwithringo14482 жыл бұрын
Hi Kevin I got some really good bags from Amazon, but I generally use the zip lock ones from Tesco's. They're really tough and do the trick, when carrying boilies, dumbells and particles.

The Nene is not a prolific Barbel water,how many times do you blank?
@fishingwithringo14482 жыл бұрын
Hey Stu Its a tough river and I would say that I blank one in every 4 visits. I'll move around in the daytime looking for the fish and sit tight going into darkness, where chances improve significantly. I've put in a lot of time and effort to get to know some of the stretches, which is starting to pay off. I haven't managed to crack winter barbel fishing yet, so my catch rate drops considerably. I don't have the luxury of being able to choose my sessions when the weather changes, so I try to enjoy my time on the bank and appreciate if I'm lucky to catch.
