Captain Marc, as someone who has caught more Salmon on Lake Ontario than I've probably ever seen in my life, do you have a favorite (or a few) recipe for Coho or Kings, or even Steelhead to share?
@KingsLandingSportFishing12 сағат бұрын
I keep it pretty simple… Cedar plank with some seasoning or my wife sometimes makes a great miso salmon. I did try a bear battered salmon earlier in the year and it was pretty tasty as well. I have a buddy that cold smoked it and it is fantastic!

I know this is an older vid but I’ll ask anyway. So using the 7-1 math say you snap on a 8 oz weight. That’s 56 ft. Well since there’s only 50 ft between the board and the weight I assume it won’t go 56ft. In this case do you just add more line? Say a 50-75 lead? Is there a formula for getting your spoons down that deep.
@KingsLandingSportFishingКүн бұрын
Sorry, I don’t have a formula for that… I’d probably go with 75-100 as a guess

That fish wasn’t A monster but a solid just over 20 The weirdest thing is that it ripped the micro swivel that was attached to the backing line.I mean the metal itself give up before anything else. And it was still alive and strong on Sunday around 9am Pulling all that WS with her.

That is absolutely unreal! Cause it happened before 7am betwen bluffers and the filtration. When i got the line in, the bulk of the knot was still there so i wondered if rhe swivel failed..

Thanks for another great report. Fished Oakville harbour tracing the NE contours to the Petro pier. Ranges 90-170 with most coming from 140, 69 surface temps and 60ish at the ball (70-80 fow mostly) if that can be believed. Fishhawk was malfunctioning and saying 03.7 ball temp most of the day flashing an occasional 60 temp. Tried 4 set of batteries over a few trips... hmmm. All spoon bite, mostly riggers. 11 for 12 by noon with the biggest being a 14lb rainbow. Oakville fishes very differently from Bluffers.

Love the videos Capt Marc. Thanks for the help. Never hear much about attractors mixed with spoons. Is that right? Usually you mention flashers fly and meat rigs with rotator but what about spoons? Just run them alone? Or with some kind of attraction. I do a little of both but I have a small boat , wondering if it's worth putting spoons down without rotator or wasting my time. Thanks again and looking forward to the next report. Dan from VT

Hey Mark, thanks for the info because most to all fishermen never take the time to wash there spoons either for killing bad scents or restoring the flash, one question I have spoon related is do you troll spoons mainly naked or do you prefer a flasher? If a flasher what leader length do you prefer? Thanks
