Hi everyone! Hope you all are doing well. This video is the first of four that will be released within the next couple of weeks, so make sure you are subscribed and have notifications turned on so you know when the next video releases! Thank you all for your continued support! Fun fact, at 7:03 in the video, I had a friend on UA1768, a United Boeing 777 (N780UA) departing for Orlando (MCO). It was really cool seeing his plane before we both went our separate ways.

Yep, I was affected by the grounding. I was supposed to fly on a United 737 max 9 from sfo to Honolulu, but that flight got cancelled, cause the grounding happened the day before the flight. As a result, I had to rebook with a 777 instead, though I had to pay an extra 100 bucks just to select my seat. On the bright side, I arrived at Honolulu three hours earlier so I could enjoy some spotting and eat at their foot court as I had to sleep the night over in the airport for an early Morning international flight.

Some viewers like watching the whole sequence of pushback, engine start, taxi, and takeoff, which is why I start recording when the pushback starts. Depending on the length of the taxi, the video could be very short or it can be very long. However, your comment did give me the idea to include the timestamp of the takeoff so it will be easier for viewers to view the takeoff. In future videos I will make sure to include it. Thanks for watching!

At the 1:07 point in the video, it sounded as if an engine got shutdown, rather than started. Does anyone know what that sound was? I don't think the APU shutting down would be as noticeable as what was heard at 1:07. FWIW, there was a normal engine start about a minute later at 2:09 in the video. Nice video BTW. Happy landings.

The startup process involves the APU redirecting air to the first engine to make it spin. Although I’m not entirely sure how it works, I’m guessing some of the onboard systems have to temporarily stop during this process. Somebody in the know can correct me on this.

I haven't flown United in a while but the amount of announcements and videos they play before take is crazy (especially compared to other airlines). I would personally get a little annoyed when all I want to do is watch my movie after the safety announcement.
@JVAviation
@JVAviation 8 ай бұрын
Haha I feel like United (and maybe other airlines) take advantage of the in-seat IFEs by playing their ads since it is harder to announce ads on the PA system of the plane. Plus, I think they know more passengers will be watching the ads because passengers want to get back to their movie or TV show after the safety video is played.

Definitely not this exact plane. This was a Continental 757 at that time and CO never had any scheduled service HNL-SFO. You are mistaken. It’s a different aircraft than you flew on. United did fly 757-200, though. The -300 came from Continental.
