I went last year to see what it was like. I didn't have the hassle of travelling by bus if one turned up as last year I was parked directly outside. I found that Waterman's MT2 was way too busy, as was the rest of the exhibition on a number of different floors. Warley NEC exhibition is a better event for travelling train or car. More space to walk round a ground floor. This year's tickets have already been purchased.

👋 Hi Reggie, was great to meet you last Sunday, a real pleasure chatting with you. I agree with your summary of the show, it was just too crowded & difficult to get around the thin isles between the stands (the balconies were even worse !!). I wanted to film some of the day but I gave up pretty quick with that idea. The TMD is coming on fantastic, I like what you are doing with the ground coverage & detailing parts. Another thing that stands out for me is the track weathering which is superb. Excellent finish to the vid with the running session , First Class stuff. Take Care & All the best....Andy

Just come across your great video as was searching for how to install and setup a Peco SL-90 double slip on my Ecos controlled DCC layout. I have a question that you maybe able to help me with: If I am using DCC concept Cobalt point motors (i.e. not solenoid type of point motors, are there any springs to remove from the SL-90 point? I cannot see any similar to other Peco points that I have installed . Regards, Alf.
@brayworthpark5542
@brayworthpark5542 11 ай бұрын
Hi Alf, Thanks for your comment, glad you found the video useful. From memory I cannot recall removing any springs from the SL-90, as the point makeup is quite different from other points. If there is no obvious cover for a spring I would say not. Sorry I can't be more certain! Cheers Reggie

@@brayworthpark5542 Thanks Reggie for the speedy response to my removal of any springs on the SL-90 if using the cobalt slow motion motors question. I had a good look for any similar to other Peco point removable covers that hide the centering springs on the SL-90, but like you I couldn't see any, also when operating the tie-bars by hand I thought I could detect the slight intervention of a spring that applied a slight bit of force to overcome any tendancy to return to it's starting point?...so thought I'd ask someone using slow-mo motors with theirs to see if they managed to get good operation of the point without worrying about presence(or not) of any springs... Cheers, Alf

Hi Reggie, this is a very colourful livery you have there, such a shame you had trouble with the dcc decoders, i have heard a lot of modellers don't rate the DCC Concepts decoders, they can be very hit and miss, i have a couple of the 21 pin HST sets, i found the fan quite noisy on my Platinum Jubilee set, i took the unit apart and removed poor grade grease Hornby fitted at the factory, refitted them with model silicon grease, they run very nice now. I did hear we might see an Accurascale HST set in the future, i do hope so to be fair as it's about time we see an ultra detailed set with sound, probably be cheaper than the Hornby dcc ready models, thanks for sharing.

Spot on with reference to the Hunt coupling's problem of parting under load. Mine did on corners and s bends, despite me buying the specific HST set! Mine also kept popping out of the NEM pockets and then snapped due to being brittle when I tried to tweak their insert legs further apart! All in all poor. Only good for short, light wagon trains. I use black nail varnish successfully on the point frogs and crossovers to prevent shorting.

Thanks for your comment - yes had same issues with Hunt Couplings, either come out as loose or break trying to remove. Everyone raved about them at first but I'm not impressed at all. Just hope Hornby get some stock soon of theirs! Cheers Reggie

Why do you insulate the slip turnout from the rest of the track? If the wheel flanges do not short the frog rails, why do this? As it is an insulfrog has correct connections with positive and negative rails throughout the turnout.
