Anita did him wrong. What's sold to someone as 50/50 should actually end up being 50/50 in the end. But, it's also Walter's fault for not knowing how to read. Either way, so sad that they had to split. This marriage seemed like something out of a fairy tale.

She wasn't a total fool, she cheated on him. They said Cindy was his true love NOT. After he got her pregnant he started messing with her girlfriends. Everyone of these Ladies got cheated on. He got them pregnant then moved on. All the access to women he would have never been faithful. In the end Queen Rita won it all. As she once said she was up for it.

New fan! My cousin referred me to your pages! You are the truth! With that being said, I've come to the conclusion that Marvin Gaye's life cannot be covered in a biopic. It's more suited to be a six to eight part miniseries. I've always known about how troubled he was. Like you said, "What a life!"

I read that he didn't actually want to get married to Rita and only did so to try to get her to Delaware so it wasn't true love from what I understand

Diahann Carroll was so much in love with Sidney Poitier. Although he was married, he strung her along for years! Set her up in an apartment but later he fell for one of his co stars (who later became his wife) but was still married to he first wife. Messy. He told Diahann about the affair with the actress, told her to move out of the apartment and to pay him the back rent! Love is not about color, it's about who treats one with love AND respect.

He was one of the sexiest, most virile looking, man in the world. That ever existed, in history. It’s not even that I am a big fan of his music or anything like that. But when I was a young teenager, my whole summer group was taken to a Tom Jones concert. The way he danced, his hips, that …well…It was amazing. He oozed male sexuality and virility. I would think any woman that met Tom Jones would be defenseless. Any woman that was his peer, would definitely travel around the world to meet up with him. And every one of those women was lucky and blessed to be able to be in that position. There aren’t many men that are that masculine, Tom Jones was the epitome of that.

Back then black and white people had a problem, they did not mix in the USA. In Europe they had no problem, they treated each other on they same level. Chubby's wife was born in Haarlem, Netherlands and this is so awesome. I do however understand his mom's attitude towards her. Chubby was brought up in a racist country, which is still racist and hopefully may change. So, she saw her as "what will people say," So typical of white attitude, but against all odds Chubby and Catharina are still married. They have awesome children and they are blessed by God.

The way i ended up here was after reading some articles from old Jet magazine, I was curious to find out more about what eventually happened with these two love birds. 1964 was an incredibly tumultuous year in regards to race relations between Blacks and whites. It was a year full of violence, civil disobedience, riots and chaos. Its almost unbelievable that the country survived that decade. In the middle of all this, these two meet and in defiance of all thats going on around them, they decide to marry. What balls! I admire them both. My experience with people from the Netherlands has always been positive. They’re a different mindset. Anyways, I enjoyed the video. God Bless and take care.

Anna had a lot of nerve calling her it, when she allowed Marvin to impregnate her 15 year old niece (Denise). Anna was too old to have a child so I guess she thought let’s keep it in the family 😳.

Interesting but you've left out his adultery. I admired their relationship for years and thought he was loyal. Opal was blind-sided and traumatised when he left her for Alison. He became the typical old man cliche trying to hang on to his youth by running off with a blonde bimbo young enough to be his daughter. Such a betrayal. I really hope Opal is doing okay now and knows that she is valuable and beautiful inside and out. It's bad to be betrayed at any age but to be abandoned for a younger person when you're in your 70's after a life time with somebody is such a low cowardly thing to do. I hope their son and daughter do not hang out with the new bit and their dad. Their support should be for their mum.
