That is so cool and looks like a ton of fun! My friends and I need to go do this! haha! Side note: Your bearings are squeaking a lot! Maybe it's time to change them. ;)

ahh, Naomi...you and Asha Kirkby were a great inspiration to me a number of years ago; is there any hope for a bloke in his middle 50's on skates?

Thank you for the tutorial. It would be very helpful to have subtitiles as the background noise is really loud.

Yes rockering is great for slalom. But you need to get use to it.

the first time i saw the video i thought would be very difficult, but since been trying to have a better skating, from nowhere ive accomplished by doing 1/2 moon stokes, the double push is amazing.
@zunopa111 жыл бұрын
Hi Dippps - for Grapevine, and general slalom etc. do you recommend smaller front and back wheels ( rockering ) on the Twister skate ( for example as seen on the the stock Seba Igor Pro skate )

I remember being so young and just skating everyday and just doing things like this without even knowing it was anything at all.

Very good video. The best I've seen. The step I went crazy, and now I do and I understand. Thank you very much. Greetings from Gijon (Spain)

would this be done differently in quads?

This is the clearest explanation and demonstration of the grapevine I've found yet. I always get stuck once I'm facing backwards and going on to the toes (on on quads). I think this video just 'unclicked' something for me though, can't wait to try it out now!

By actively steering both feet all the time, as well as actively holding the edge (i.e. angle of wheels with the road) of each skate. Sorry the answer isn't an easy one. :)

Is rockering "required" with the grapevine or is still doable with a straight setup ?

Yes, you need to hold your body in the position shown in the video. Physics dictates that your left foot and your upper body will want to come forward as your heelbrake foot slows down. Keep the left skate back, with force, and you won't lose your balance so easily.
@MsLazystudent12 жыл бұрын
when use heelbrake , my other foot continues to go and i fall back !
