Everything we, but especially black people, endure on a daily bases, this kind of praise is very much understood.

I came back to this song in 2024 because God saved my life 5 times over the past 5 yrs when I almost died from mold exposure then in 2022 I flatlined due to blood poisoning sepsis 3 days after my brother had passed I was smoking weed drinking alcohol popping mollies while in a deep depression I was also suicidal 4 times I’ve been a month clean from drugs and alcohol I still have chronic health issues from being severely ill I also lost the chance of being able to have kids I started going back to church trying to get my house in order I thank God because it could have went another way I survived what I didn’t see coming he gave me one more chance!!!!! I also was put in a psych ward was diagnosed with bipolar manic depression I was going crazy because of my illness that nobody could tell me what was wrong my slumlord caused this harm to me and admitted afterwards when I confronted him my life has never been the same and will never be the same ever again
