It would take until 2010 before Fry and Laurie would be reunited for a one off special for the satellite/cable channel GOLD and it is available on KZbin. Since then, Fry and Laurie have not been together.

Who is the interviewer (who obviously hasn't a clue)?
@JoeyXSmith Жыл бұрын
1:05 I think it was Tim Mcinnerny who played Percy/Darling that might have back out at the last minute. He said in an interview that he didn't want to be typed cast. So he was backed out of doing S3. Although, he does appear in one S3 episode as a guest.
@OnafetsEnovap Жыл бұрын
Right you are. He also agreed to do S4 (Blackadder Goes Forth) on the condition that he played a completely separate character, and he got his wish (in some early S4 scripts, Captain Darling was originally named Captain Percival).

What's fake about it? It's the Parkinson show, with Hugh Laurie from 2000 with Russian subtitles. Exactly what it says in the title.

The only thing I dislike about Hugh Laurie is that he makes crap music. What is this blues! It's crap music is what it is.

I dont think UK TV has anything to learn from American TV. (God help us!). Nothing on US TV would ever achieve the subtle brilliance of The Detectorists or the wide-ranging, well-informed social and personal comment of House. (Not enough shows take on New Age hooey). Few (about 3) US comedy shows over the decades can match British Comedy. Unfortunately US TV is like candy- superficially appealing. I have watched about 8 episodes of House. It is not bad but the diseases people get are always the most hugely unlikely. Then I go back to watching Laurie in PG. Wodehouse. I live in Canada so we get a solid (unhealthy) diet of US TV as soon as we are old enough to stare at a video screen. NOTHING matches the intelligence, humour and knowledge one encounters on HIGNFY. I like Qi and 8 out of 10 Cats does Countdown, but it must be something about the widely self-reported British sexual repression that makes the amount of jokes involving bums and sexual organs so funny. Or maybe its to bring in another demographic. One gets such "humour" from US comedians but it is always from those whose comedy is "broad".
@granthurlburt40622 жыл бұрын
But now that I think of it, it's hard to match the amount of talk about sex and display of breasts one sees in Two and Half Men, the Big Bang Theory, and other shows that I dont watch, or on Seinfeld. Seinfeld is one of the few in the league of the best Brit coms.

@bennylloyd-willner9667 Жыл бұрын
I don't think so, mainly because he doesn't 😁. You can go to other interviews with him here on KZbin and comment on how he always "crosses his legs", "have feet together", etc. Just pick one position, and it always is "not always"😁

I've noticed that too, it's his "go to" sitting position when comfortable. I think it may have something to do with being tall?

True he always seems to avoid giving a direct answer and let Hugh take the lead, kind of like avoiding confrontation. I think there a lot of parts of their real life personalities that are similar to House’s and Wilson’s. They complement each other well.
