The melodic genius and versatility of Sir Paul coming to the fore in this song. Who would've thought that a self-taught rocker would be able to produce a jazzy bossa nova of such quality? Apparently, his years with Jane Asher and her upper crust family opened his ears to many music styles when he was visiting at their house.

This matchup of vocals, mixed with the fantastic orchestral sound is way underappreciated. My lord I miss Cilla. Can't believe she's been gone for 9 years as of this comment. Thank you Cilla.

Short, yet very very sweet. Consequently, I must ask this question of you... What on earth has gone wrong with the world since? It's 1 Oct 2024 here, speaking, so perhaps you understand... my asking you this at all. Although perhaps, and just thinking about 'it all' for a bit... all this stupidity just varies between this war & that, between this generation & that, so nothing ever really changes, not really, in spite of us always thinking it will. It's just our collective fallen human nature on display to the world, sadly, if not my individual fallen human nature. Then again, it never is, is it? Until, perhaps, one day, it actually is... when, and perhaps due to your inability to see your said individual fallen human nature, you just can't see that it is... and, perhaps, ANOTHER war begins. 💔

Such a beautiful rendition of a famous Hal David-Burt Bacharach classic. The composition had always been sheer perfection and with both Cilla Black's and Dionne Warwick's different takes on the song added two different interpretations to the song. But to add Rebecca Ferguson's beautiful soulful voice adds a brand new sound to such a classic. Just a perfect match of Cilla Black and Rebecca Ferguson.

I'm making another comment, the vocalist Rebecca Ferguson is incredible. The entire orchestra is above and beyond incredible, You can hear each individual instrument, and the way it all comes together bring this incredible song. I love it!

‘I read in the paper that Gemini people will make it tonight ‘ -that’s what caught my interest while first hearing this when i was young. Go the Gems. Truly outrageous
@garyt.26166 ай бұрын
I so agree, where does that lyric come from? I understand that the songwriters were told by a TV producer that it was for a TV special starring Celia Black and they wanted a song to open the show that would imply that this was going to be a big event, that something was going to happen tonight and true genius sometimes just takes the comment to heart and thus here is the song's theme. But I know what you mean by outrageous. But what I have learned is that what turns people's heads and ears can be the poetic or prose of a song that comes from out of nowhere. Both outrageous and audacious, but if a performer or writer believes it, the listener will too, that is accept the premise of the song.

Pozdrawiam.
