My bro where did you get that sprocket and does it fit the BBS 02? I kind of tested fitted my chainline and I'm going to need a few to several more millimeters than that stock chain ring, to be fair it was a third beer and a little 420 eyeballin' but I come from a construction background that's how we do it.

@@johnsheetz6639 the bbs builds will often need either an offset chainring like Luna Eclipse 42T, lekkie bling ring 42T, Or else rearrange the cassette cogs on your rear sprocket so it has a better chain line.

Hey man - Happy Thanksgiving. I particularly enjoy it when you mix these motor / bike upgrade videos in. I'm currently re-watching all your BBS02 videos. After seeing that Bafang is discontinuing all their UART motors in '25 - and impending tariffs and inflation I felt an urgency to get some stuff before it becomes rare or too spendy. This is probably the last - best time to order mid drives and spare parts/gaskets/ chains from overseas. Anyway, happy to say I just scored a new-in-box 36v 500 watt BBS02 for $400 CAD on the classifieds. Now I have yet another winter project. BTW I believe "Lash" is the term for this undesirable mechanical action. CHeers

Left a Happy Thanksgiving to all earlier but now it's gone. Just watched Justin at Grin Tech announce new all axle fat tire motors for both front & rear wheel use. There's no gears but it's lighter than direct drives & can do Regen but not 🚫 the motor with a rotor for Regen using a brake lever he talked about last Spring. So maybe that motor release is next for Grin Tech.

@@stevecumming6427 hey Steve thanks for posting another comment, sorry brother, I’m not sure what happens to those. I can go look at comments that are “held for review” - however , there’s comments KZbin hides beyond that, which i never see , so KZbin is pretty unreliable with comments and free speech. 😂 but thanks for leaving another comment and letting me know. The new grin tech all axle fat motors look cool, but dang 1000$ , and i bet there’s some crazy tax and tarrifs on buying a 1k motor from Canada. Shipping is probably quite a lot , i didn’t go through the full process of adding to cart and totalling it up, The price of the motor alone spooked me away immediately 😂 and that freegen thing looks cool, between the patent, grin tech prices, and Canada tax, that will probably be expensive as well. I think freegen would be implemented in a geared hub motor? I’m not sure i would buy a motor just because it has freegen. Its not a feature i would buy a whole motor for, I don’t know.. freegen looks cool, novel idea, but it sounds like its year(s) away. Im not hyped up for it at all tbh until it gets closer to market, but very interesting though

Came across your video and then a thread about the default firmware. Just now decided to update mine to the correct firmware and 6.05. And I get good usable motor detection results now. I have tested it yet but I’m looking forward to the improvement to what I was already happy with
@EBikeBuilder_6 күн бұрын
Yeah I agree a lot of things seem to be improved in 6.05, i did see some better results with motor setup, works great on my hub motor, but on my BBSHD i'm not sure if field weakening is working for me in 6.05. I was able to use MTPA and ride around on the trails just fine without fw. But then when i tried to use fw, didnt seem to increase my top speed at all, So if you are using fw with the bbshd then 6.02 might be better. I am still on 6.05 and it works great otherwise. I might down grade it to 6.02 fw and see if that fixes it. But i havent had a chance yet.
@ziReActz6 күн бұрын
@@EBikeBuilder_ okay so just a case to case thing maybe, I did try the field weakening. My top speed is lower with the same amount but still increased a lot with my hub motors from 28mph to 44mph instead of 49. Battery is also at 75% so could be some of my lose too
@ziReActz5 күн бұрын
@ I do know there is a point I can’t increase my speed anymore, anything after 16amp seems to increase less until I get to about 20amps. And then no matter how much more I give it my top speed is capped at 54 16 gives me 50mph 0 is 28mph so I think there is a limited to it and that motor may just not have the efficiency to utilize it. I will say that these changes have given me access to a lot more power capability I could get on the old target

@@electricbikeretrovintage be careful using two m12 anti rotational washers, make sure the dropouts are thick enough and the tabs are not pressing against each other. On my bike frame i tried that once, and the tabs were touching each other. With these bigger m14 anti rotation washers on this motor the tab is longer and i think only one is necessary, I’m not sure i could fit two of these big m14 washers into the same dropout.
